Bug#756552: kde-workspace-bin: unable to unlock locked screen ("unlocking failed")

2014-11-25 Thread Benjamin Peter
Package: kde-workspace-bin
Version: 4:4.11.13-2
Followup-For: Bug #756552

Dear Maintainer,

I want to provide additional information. I was experiencing the same
problem
after I restored a backup using rsync -a.

Changing the permission to suid helped with the problem too.

Apparently the suid bit was not set correctly during the restore?

Ben.

Bug#477639: kde: Thunderbird (icedove) is not restored on a saved session, session manager

2008-04-24 Thread Benjamin Peter
Package: kde
Version: 5:48
Severity: normal

When the session manager of KDE is configured to restore a manually
saved session on startup, icedove is not restored. Other applications
like firefox or krusader work, but not icedove.

This is the case for a long time now and I thought it was time
for a bugreport.

It would be nice if someone could have a look at it.

Bug#664692: /usr/bin/krunner: app launcher is started upon ctrl+^ but is not configured as such

2012-03-19 Thread Benjamin Peter
Package: kde-workspace-bin
Version: 4:4.7.4-2
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/krunner

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

*** End of the template - remove these lines ***

a recent update seems to have brought me a shortcut for the kde
application launcher widget (krunner I guess).

When I press ctrl+^ it starts the widget and also enters "^" into
the input field.

ctrl+^ is not configured as it's shortcut in the system settings
ctrl+^ has been configured to start yakuake (quake like terminal window)
before and I'd like to keep it this way

Yakuake is opened additionally to the application launcher.

Thanks a lot for looking into it,

regards,

Benjamin Peter.

When the problem occures, the mouse is still on the bigger monitor B, but
is only movable in an area as big as the smaller monitor A (Marked by x).
Additionally the position where a click is performed is not at the display
position of the cursor.

When I try to move the cursor lefft to monitor A, the cursor jumps into the
opposite direction, which is the edge of the currently movable area of
the mouse (Marked by the 'v'. It seems like it thinks the edge of
monitor A is somewhere in monitor B). Which means it stays on monitor B.

I can only move the cursor to monitor A if I manage to click focus a window
on that monitor. After that the behavior seems to be normal again.

Hope you can see what I mean - I would love to add a video but it can't
quite reproduce it.

I filed it as "kwin" but might also be a xfree problem.

Thanks for your time.

Bug#451925: kpdf: Underscore characters are not copied when doing copy+paste

2007-11-19 Thread Benjamin Peter

Package: kpdf
Version: 4:3.5.7-4
Severity: normal

Hi,

I can not copy underscore "_" characters from the gSOAP 2.7.9 Documentation
PDF to any other location. I tried it with a different document and it
worked,

so it might be a problem with the document format/encoding.

When a text is copied the normal characters are fine but the underscores
are simply

missing.

Thanks for your attention.

Hello,

When the session manager of KDE is configured to restore a manually

This is the case for a long time now and I thought it was time
for a bugreport.

It would be nice if someone could have a look at it.

Please retest with the latest KDE 4 in squeeze/sid.
