Sorry that this took so long in getting back to you.

What you mean here is that KDE honours a subset of values of the TZ environment
variable [1], right? As far as I know, kde supports the TZ=std format, I think
this is a qt functionality, I'm not really sure.

Michael was this really the issue here? Is the issue still reproducible for

Btw, the digitalclock is part of the plasma-workspace package, locate

/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.digitalclock can be of help to find

this out.

I'm using plasma-* 4:5.8.4-1 now, and can not see this bug.
I don't know what Plasma version fixed this bug. (maybe version 4:5.5.X?)

Dear Maintainer,
After the recent update of breeze, the icons of the apps in the taskbar became
breeze, even if I have explicitly selected the Oxygen theme for them.

Moreover, breeze seems to lack icons for most applications, including KDE ones,
so ksnapshot, firefox, the default Xorg icon, are all coming from the Oxygen
theme.

I believe this is broken. The default shouldn't change user settings, and it
should also come with some more icons.

After updating to kde plasma 5 the digital clock widget is showing the wrong
time. The previous version (4.x) showed it correctly.
Also date and hwclock show the correct time. Also in the system settings, the
date & time settings show the proper time. Fuzzy clock widget shows the propper
time. I don't know about analog clclock widget, because it's just way to small
to recognize anything.
The hwclock is set to utc. Timezone to venezuela.
The time shown is wrong for exactly one hour (one hour later than really is).
I hope the digital clock widget is part of plasma-widgets-addons, I did not
know against what else to fill that bug.

Reassigning.

On Mi, 18 iun 14, 22:52:20, hsanson wrote:
Source: plasma-widget-kimpanel

* What led up to the situation?

My work and school environment requires me to write document in Japanese
language for which I use ibus. Currently everything works perfect if I use ibus
with the gtk panel but being a KDE user I wanted to use instead kimpanel that
looks better integrated with the KDE plasma panel.

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?

I installed kimpanel and started ibus-daemon with the following command:

  ibus-daemon --xim -p /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kimpanel-ibus-panel

I tried several options for the ibus-daemon, setting it when starting KDE,
running it directly in a terminal, etc...

I also have the corresponding environment variables:

export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus

* What was the outcome of this action?

The kimpanel shows as a pencil icon and does nothing on click. I cannot change
the input method using any keys and of course I cannot input Japanese text on
any application.

Interstingly if I click in an edit box in chromium the pencil icon changes to a
keyboard icon followed by the ibus *i* icon. But still I cannot input any
Japanese and clicking on the icons only show information without doing anything
else.

* What outcome did you expect instead?

I expected to see the input method with all its options in the plasma panel and
be able to write Japanese text.

I shall mention again that using the default gtk panel works as expected but
looks extremely ugly inside the KDE plasma panel.

The current version in plasma-desktop includes the scim backend. This is
somewhat tricky to setup, in particular I couldn't find a way to avoid the
gtk-panel from respawning and allow the kimpanel scim panel to take over. I've
ended up doing:

kill $(pidof scim-panel-gtk); \
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kimpanel-scim-panel
With that I managed to show "something" in the plasmoid, but then I couldn't
do anything useful with it. I'm not sure if I'm missing some scim
foo or it just doesn't work.

We are also build depending on ibus, but the build log suggests me that the
ibus support is not being built. Anyway the ibus gtk panel seems straight
forward enough as to need the kimpanel, we should probably drop the ibus build
dependency here.

I'm asking for help for this bug, as I haven't played with scim or ibus
before, and maybe I'm missing something.

Happy hacking,

Moving kpmcore to pkg-qt-kde/kde-extras

2017-03-22 Thread Jonathan Carter (highvoltage)
Hi Rohan

I meant to create kpmcore in pkg-qt-kde/kde-extras/kpmcore and found
that there's the older copy of yours in there.

Can I force push over that or do you care about the brief history it had
from 2015? It doesn't seem so important since that version was never in
the archives.

thanks!

Package: kdewallpapers
Version: 4:4.4.5-1
Severity: normal

I hope this is really part of kdewallpapers, if not: sorry. I am using the
interactive KDE-wallpaper that shows the earth (the one you can rotate
and zoom in and out). After starting KDE everything is fine, the globe shows
the correct day/night pattern. If left running the information
is updated correctly, so if the sun goes down outside your window you can see
the terminator approaching your location. But if you suspend your
machine (ACPI S3) the wallpaper gets out of sync. If you wake up the machine
several hours later the terminator has not moved. If you
log out and in to KDE everything is fine again. But if you do nothing the
terminator will move on from that wrong position and stay wrong (there
is no "jump" to the correct position). I guess the application needs to be made
aware when an ACPI-wakeup has occured, then re-check the time and
redraw the globe with the correct day/night pattern.

Closing the issue with the wheezy version. I'm a bit sad that this feature is
gone for plasma 5, though. It should be feasible to add it back (see the
hunyango wallpaper addon as an example), but some one needs to be willing to do
this upstream.

Hello,

recently KDE 4 reintroduced the possibility to save the current session
via a "save session" button on Kmenu. Unfortunately, lancelot lacks this
option.
Since I only use lancelot, if I want to save my current session, I have to add
the Kmenu widget, save the session and then remove the Kmenu widget
again.

That would be nice if this option were available in lancelot.

Many thanks.

Sorry, I can't reproduce the issue here, the message seems to be related
to a rule rejecting the request for your users, (even root?). Do you have a
specific policykit setup?

I don't have a specific setup. The system runs testing for some years,

and a clean account I just created for testing.

There is something here, as root policykit doesn't need to talk with the
agent, so that rules out polkit-kde-agent-1. The issue should be on the
policykit side.

Just to be sure, how was the root plasma session started?
The changes made as root weren't applied to the /etc/sddm.conf file? (assuming
that you tested this with the sddm kcm)

Do you have the polkit-kde-authentication-agent-1 service running?

I have such a process running, under the desktop's user uid.

After these the agent request an EnumerateActions and ends up showing the
window, in my test system. This may indicate that the agent is in a
non-responsive state, which somewhat contradicts what's indicated a couple of
paragraphs before. Was this the complete output?

It might be useful to attach an strace to the agent with:
sudo strace -vf -p $(pidof polkit-kde-authentication-agent-1) | tee
/tmp/polkit-agent.log

or something like that. The generated file would be quite large, with a lot of
noise, so it might be better not to send it to a pastebin like
https://paste.debian.net.

Happy hacking,
