No, PulseAudio itself is not installed, although libpulse0 is present in
my system. However, in amarok only vlc is available as backend. With
phonon-backend-vlc 0.6.0-1 the sound test of the audio playback is
working but MP3s just keep silent. Downgrading to 0.5.0-1 fixes this
reproducible for me. Something I don't understand is that on two other
systems I don't encounter this behaviour with 0.6.0-1. All three
computers share a common setup (Debian sid, fluxbox, amarok, vlc as
backend).

If I can provide any further kind of helpful information please let me
know.

Best regards,
Marcus

Bug#685523: Stupidly brings windows to the front

2012-08-21 Thread Goswin von Brederlow
Package: qtcreator
Version: 2.5.0-2
Severity: important

Selecting tools->options in QT Creator pops up a dialog as it should.
But every time the mouse focus changes to the main QT Creator window
the dialog is moved to front potentially hiding other windows one has
in front of it and disrupting the user. It is the job of the window
manager and the user to make those decisions, not that of QT Creator.

Bug#685524: After upgrading to 4:4.8.2+dfsg-1 kwin segfaults on startup

2012-08-21 Thread Arto Jantunen
Package: qt4-x11
Version: 4:4.8.2+dfsg-1
Severity: grave

Starting KDE with qt4 version 4:4.8.2+dfsg-1 installed causes kwin to segfault
on startup somewhere in libpthread, with 4:4.8.2-2+b1 everything works as
expected.

I'll see if I can generate a proper backtrace..

Just for the record: which video card are you using? Are the drivers free or
non-free?

I'm also running a 64-bit system and could not reproduce this issue.

Please try to, as this is quite strange. I have added two patches to Qt but
they should not mess with kwin AFAIU.

The video card is an older Intel controller, free driver of course:

VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS,
943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

Is this related to a different gcc version or different flags used when

I've just started to see some crashes with this last line, mostly in stuff
related with kate-part.

> Is this related to a different gcc version or different flags used when

I've currently two suspects: a patch which seemed to solve some issues in
amd64 in QJIT or gcc.

I'm currently rebuilding without the patch to check if it was the culprit. If
it proves to be so, then I'll surely upload a new version tonight.

Else, well, I need to check what changed in gcc or other B-Ds :-/

Thanks a lot for your report and the backtrace!

Kinds regards, Lisandro.

The problem in kate/kile's crash seemed to be the aforementioned patch.
So I'll be reuploading Qt tonight.

In the meantime, if you want, grab the packages at
http://perezmeyer.com.ar/temp/ and check if you still can reproduce this bug.

It's a *modal* dialog box. It blocks Qt Creator until the dialog is
closed. Setting focus on 3rd party window and then back to Qt Creator
main window will *always* move the modal dialog back on top.

Unless this is about something else and I misunderstand, this is not a
bug. This is by design.
