Package: kdebase-workspace-bin
Version: 4:4.4.5-5
Severity: important

Hi,

on kFreeBSD, both the power management and the solid configurations crash on
opening, due to the fact that their .desktop servicetypes are not available.
Copying the files:
  usr/share/kde4/servicetypes/solidbluetoothmanager.desktop
  usr/share/kde4/servicetypes/solidnetworkmanager.desktop
  usr/share/kde4/servicetypes/solidpowermanager.desktop
makes these configurations start correctly.

Example of backtrace when opening the solid configuration (eg `kcmshell4
kcm_solid`):

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

kdebase-workspace override disparity

2011-01-02 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

kdm_4.4.5-6_amd64.deb: package says section is x11, override says kde.
klipper_4.4.5-6_amd64.deb: package says section is x11, override says kde.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug
and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until
then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.]

The "Run Command" window opened by pressing Alt+F2 appears on the wrong
screen after the following:
 - Press Alt+F2 on the right screen to open the "Run Command" window
 - Press Escape to close the window
 - Press Alt+F2 again. Now the "Run Command" window appears on the
   left screen.

I have a dual-head setup with two monitors. I'm not using Xinerama.

When a shortcut (like a Panel Button) is clicked to open an application, but
the application has a failure, the startup silently stops, while
running the application from shell will report the error
Normal feedback would be to at least tell the application cannot startup
because of a failure and maybe the reason can also be told.

top shows that firefox-bin is using about 150% of CPU; ksysguard does
not display firefox in the processes pain at all, though it does show
high overall CPU useage. It displayed firefox-bin earlier when its
useage was lower.

I speculate something bad happens when useage goes over 100%. I'm not
sure that top is accurate either; I didn't know firefox had
significant multithreading.

firefox probably shouldn't be behaving this way, but that's a separate
issue.

I'm running on a P4 with hyperthreading, which appears as 2 virtual
CPUs. I had lots of firefox windows and tabs opened, and restored a
previous session. (12 windows, some with up to 20 tabs).

Please reassign appropriately if ksysguard is not the ultimate source
of the bug (e.g., it's ksysguardd).

This has happened several times; I believe it also happend on a k7
system with 2 real CPUs.

The KDE 4 battery monitor is quite nice in a lot of respects. One thing it
doesn't do
however is cater for machines with multiple batteries such as my Thinkpad X40.

When I plug a second battery with the Battery monitor running nothing happens.
I got spoilt
by the venerable 'kpowersave' package in KDE 3.5 which used HAL to detect
battery insertions and was happy to report the status of multiple batteries.

This is certainly functionality that this new shiny Battery Monitor could do
with.
Maybe the code for kpowersave could be used to illustrate one implementation
strategy
for this.

This problem occurs only when I have notebook with external monitor
turned on.
Disconnect the monitor manualy (unplug cable) and than use shortcut to
set the system (xrandr --output VGA0 --off --output LVDS0 --auto).

How it looks like after crash? I got 2 panels, the one that is full-size
stay ok. The other which is small and placed on left side (only for
quick launch)
loose all its settings (move up from center, set to always visible from
windows can
get over). Kradnrtray restarts and loose a lot of its content. To solve
this I logout/login and set the small panel back to its correct
settings.

Also important is that the resolution of both displays is different:
1024x600 vs 1280x1024. And it is not new bug, it does in all versions of
KDE 4 i used. Since 4.2.x

There is no problem when external monitor is pluged in. I can swich
LVDS/VGA without problems/crashes.

Reproduce: Plugin external monitor to notebook. Swich the output to it
(xrandr --output VGA0 --auto --output LVDS0 --off). Unplug the monitor
and swich back to LVDS.

If I try to add a URL that can not be accessed by Akregator, it crash
and all entries that were added in that session are lost. This bug is
reproducible under the same situation.

This is the output produced by stdout to launch the application from the shell:

vi...@squeeze:~$ akregator
Object::connect: No such signal Akregator::SubscriptionListView::signalDropped
(KUrl::List &, Akregator::TreeNode*, Akregator::Folder*)
Object::connect:  (sender name:   'feedtree')

vi...@squeeze:~$ KCrash: Application 'akregator' crashing...
