Bug#523354: Can confirm bug and workaround
tags 523354 - unreproducible thanks I can confirm that this bug exists in KDE 4.4.5 (kmail 1.13.5) in squeeze. Please check also related KDE bugs: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246808 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=233277 With a default kde installation in squeeze (mine is fresh) kmail is not able to sign messages. One must open Kgpg (which is a different program) and set it to use gpg-agent and to start with each session. Once that is done, if you log-out of the session and log-in again, kmail will sign correctly if you ask it expressly to do, giving a pinentry dialog for the password. Kmail still lacks a way of setting it to sign all messages. The procedure is completely counterintuitive, and moreover (due to kde bug 246808 ) it can mess up gpg config and make it unusable until hand-fixed. Moreover: the pinentry window does not show in first plane in screen but gets focused. This is more counterintuitive. Thanks to all Noel Torres er Envite signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Bug#591099: konsole: Close Tab-Shortcut disabled
This appears to be the KDE bug here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=176674 The long and short of it is that by default, Kopete has ctrl-shift-w as a global shortcut for "Set Away/Back", and as it is a global shortcut, it's supposed to always work, even when Konsole is in the foreground. I'm still looking around, but I suspect the 'right' answer is thus: 1) Ensure that the default keybindings are self-consistent. Perhaps KDE should not have shipped with a application keybinding that overlaps a global keybinding? - or - 2) Check that a global keybinding is actually being used, and if not, pass it along to the active window. In this case, pass ctrl-shift-w on to Konsole when Kopete is not running. Note that this will be rather opaque to a user - in our case, ctrl-shift-w would only work if Kopete was not open. and either way: 3) Have something to let the use know that the application's keybinding is being masked by a global keybinding. I suspect that when a keybinding doesn't work, many people's first reaction is to check the keybindings config box, and they'll assume that if it's there, it should work. If the entry was grayed out or somesuch, it would make a bit more sense. --Scott Gilliland -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
