However, /usr/bin/kstart from kdebase-runtime-bin-kde4 misbehaves. I like to run 'xload' embedded into KDE's panel. To start it, I use the follwoing command: kstart --windowclass XLoad --tosystray /usr/X11R6/bin/xload -bg black -fg green -hl red -update 1 -nolabel This used to work until I installed okular package (from lenny), which pulled kdebase-runtime-bin-kde4 by dependences. Now the above does not work as expected. Instead, it causes bad misconfiguration of running session - all windows are moved to the current virtual desktop, panel no longer exists on desktop other than current. Also kstart process does not terminate, and xload is started as a normal window. Restoring kdebase-bin-kde3 makes start working again. Bug#582802: plasma-widgets-workspace: panel stays on top of mythfrontend video
Package: plasma-widgets-workspace Version: 4:4.4.3-1 Severity: normal Hi. I recently updated my squeeze system to KDE 4:4.4.3-1 from 4:4.3.4-5+b1. After doing so, the mythfrontend application from the mythtv DVR suite, which nominally runs in full screen mode, no longer obscures the KDE panel. The panel stays on top. This doesn't seem to affect other apps that can run in full screen mode. (e.g. iceweasel, konsole, etc or even other full screen video tools like xine) This makes it sound like it might be a mythfrontend problem, but nothing has changed on that side of things. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-686-bigmem (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages plasma-widgets-workspace depends on: ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.4.3-1 runtime components from the offici ii libc6 2.10.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.4-1 GCC support library ii libkdecore5 4:4.4.3-2 the KDE Platform Core Library ii libkdeui5 4:4.4.3-2 the KDE Platform User Interface Li ii libkio5 4:4.4.3-2 the Network-enabled File Managemen ii libkunitconversion4 4:4.4.3-2 the Unit Conversion library for th ii libkutils44:4.4.3-2 various utility classes for the KD ii libkworkspace44:4.4.3-1 library for the kdebase workspace ii libplasma34:4.4.3-2 the Plasma Library for the KDE Pla ii libplasmaclock4a 4:4.4.3-1 library for Plasma clocks ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.6.2-4 Qt 4 D-Bus module ii libqt4-webkit 4:4.6.2-4 Qt 4 WebKit module ii libqt4-xml4:4.6.2-4 Qt 4 XML module ii libqtcore44:4.6.2-4 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.6.2-4 Qt 4 GUI module ii libsolid4 4:4.4.3-2 Solid Library for KDE Platform ii libsolidcontrol4 4:4.4.3-1 library for Solid based network ma ii libstdc++64.4.4-1The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-3 X11 client-side library ii libxcomposite11:0.4.1-1 X11 Composite extension library ii libxdamage1 1:1.1.2-1 X11 damaged region extension libra ii libxfixes31:4.0.4-2 X11 miscellaneous 'fixes' extensio ii libxrender1 1:0.9.5-2 X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxss1 1:1.2.0-2 X11 Screen Saver extension library ii plasma-dataengines-workspace 4:4.4.3-1 KDE 4 base workspace Plasma data e plasma-widgets-workspace recommends no packages. plasma-widgets-workspace suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#582803: ksysguardd depends on libsensors3: newer sensors not visible/available
Package: ksysguardd Version: 4:4.4.3-1 Some hardware sensors (e. g. asus_atk0110) are only available in lm-sensors version >= 3.0. For these sensors libsensors4 is needed. ksysguardd version 3.5.9 (lenny) depends on libsensors4. ksysguardd version 4.4.3 (squeeze) depends on the older libsensors3? Therefore both of my sensors (asus_atk0110 and w83627ehf) are not available in ksysguard. I would be happy if these package could depends on libsensors4 in squeeze, too. Yes, but sometimes changes in other places uncover bugs in other applications. Don't you think that it is exactly the case here? mythfrontend is simply not doing a good enough job when switching to full screen mode. -- Modestas Vainius signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

It's certainly possible, but mythfrontend isn't exactly a brand-new piece of code. It has been running in numerous environments (KDE and otherwise) for a number of years without this issue being reported as a bug in it. I doubt that the problem is with mythfrontend. noah signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#582844: kdebase-runtime: Installs desktop entry for knetattach, which is not installed.
Package: kdebase-runtime Version: 4:4.4.3-1 Severity: normal Hi, I run XFCE but have kdebase-runtime installed because it is a dependency of kcachegrind. kdebase-runtime includes a desktop entry for knetattach (/usr/share/applications/kde4/knetattach.desktop), but neither it nor any of its dependencies include the knetattach binary. I confirm this as described. Amarok using phonon-backend-xine, was working well prior to the recent KDE 4.4.3 update from 4.4.2. Did the phonon-backend-xine update with KDE 4.4.3 or Amarok? I am now forced to use phonon-backend-gstreamer which works well with pulseaudio, except then there is no graphic equalizer function available in Amarok as is with Xine backend. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
