Package: kdebase-runtime-bin-kde4
Version: 4:4.1.0-2
Severity: normal

As far as I understand, lenny kdebase-runtime-bin-kde4 package is supposed to
be compatible with lenny's KDE3 desktop.

However, /usr/bin/kstart from kdebase-runtime-bin-kde4 misbehaves.

I like to run 'xload' embedded into KDE's panel.
To start it, I use the follwoing command:

kstart --windowclass XLoad --tosystray /usr/X11R6/bin/xload -bg black -fg green
-hl red -update 1 -nolabel

This used to work until I installed okular package (from lenny), which pulled
kdebase-runtime-bin-kde4 by dependences.

Now the above does not work as expected.
Instead, it causes bad misconfiguration of running session - all windows are
moved to the current virtual desktop, panel no longer exists on desktop other
than current. Also kstart process does not terminate, and xload
is started as a normal window.

Restoring kdebase-bin-kde3 makes start working again. But removes okular...

KDE 3 and KDE SC 4 are no longer interchangeable since 4.2.2. This is no
longer an issue.

I was told: "Please read _How to create useful crash reports_ . . ."
So, I clicked on the link. At the linked webpage, I was told:

"Debian - Debian offers -dbg packages to easy create useful
backtraces. Just install the corresponding -dbg package.
e.g. kdepim-dbg for KMail crashes."

But I don't know what the "corresponding -dpg package" is for konsole.
There is no konsole-dpg .

Cheers,

Bug#582802: plasma-widgets-workspace: panel stays on top of mythfrontend video

2010-05-23 Thread Noah Meyerhans
Package: plasma-widgets-workspace
Version: 4:4.4.3-1
Severity: normal

Hi. I recently updated my squeeze system to KDE 4:4.4.3-1 from
4:4.3.4-5+b1. After doing so, the mythfrontend application from the
mythtv DVR suite, which nominally runs in full screen mode, no longer
obscures the KDE panel. The panel stays on top. This doesn't seem to
affect other apps that can run in full screen mode. (e.g. iceweasel,
konsole, etc or even other full screen video tools like xine) This
makes it sound like it might be a mythfrontend problem, but nothing has
changed on that side of things.

Bug#582803: ksysguardd depends on libsensors3: newer sensors not visible/available

2010-05-23 Thread bs.net
Package: ksysguardd
Version: 4:4.4.3-1

Some hardware sensors (e. g. asus_atk0110) are only available in lm-sensors
version >= 3.0. For these sensors libsensors4 is needed.

ksysguardd version 3.5.9 (lenny) depends on libsensors4.
ksysguardd version 4.4.3 (squeeze) depends on the older libsensors3?

Therefore both of my sensors (asus_atk0110 and w83627ehf) are not available in
ksysguard.

I would be happy if these package could depends on libsensors4 in squeeze,
too. Hopefully soon ;)

Yes, but sometimes changes in other places uncover bugs in other applications.
Don't you think that it is exactly the case here? mythfrontend is simply not
doing a good enough job when switching to full screen mode.

It's certainly possible, but mythfrontend isn't exactly a brand-new
piece of code. It has been running in numerous environments (KDE and
otherwise) for a number of years without this issue being reported as a
bug in it. I doubt that the problem is with mythfrontend.

Bug#582844: kdebase-runtime: Installs desktop entry for knetattach, which is not installed.

2010-05-23 Thread John Lindgren
Package: kdebase-runtime
Version: 4:4.4.3-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I run XFCE but have kdebase-runtime installed because it is a dependency
of kcachegrind. kdebase-runtime includes a desktop entry for knetattach
(/usr/share/applications/kde4/knetattach.desktop), but neither it nor
any of its dependencies include the knetattach binary. Thus, I have in
my system menu a completely dead item for a program I know nothing about
and do not want.

I confirm this as described. Amarok using phonon-backend-xine,
was working well prior to the recent KDE 4.4.3 update from
4.4.2. Did the phonon-backend-xine update with KDE 4.4.3 or Amarok?

I am now forced to use phonon-backend-gstreamer which works
well with pulseaudio, except then there is no graphic equalizer
function available in Amarok as is with Xine backend.
