Instead it always starts Ksnapshot. I can take it back temporarily by issuing "Block Global Shortcuts" twice: The first time around Print does nothing as expected, the second time around my original Print is restored. When I change the access key (a global shortcut) of yakuake to Print, kde tells me that Print has already been allocated to the global action "AccessKey". When I tell it to change it nevertheless, nothing changes, the complaint is shown the next time as well. After a restart of kde, everything is back to Ksnapshot. Thanks in advance. Hmmm. I fail to see how KLaptopDaemon has anything to do with a bug report against KWin? The problem (if it still exists) is in a combination of kwin and laptop-mode-tools, which as nothing to do with KLaptopDaemon. Bug#533561: GO for the l10n upload of kdebase-workspace
Dear maintainer of kdebase-workspace, On Thursday, February 25, 2010 I sent you a notice announcing my intent to upload a NMU of your package to fix its pending l10n issues, after an initial notice sent on Saturday, February 20, 2010. We finally agreed that you would do the update yourself at the end of the l10n update roundand when it fits the KDE team plans. That time has come. To help you out, I committed the pending debconf l10n updates to your SVN. I will continue monitoring this package and nag you folks from time to time about these minor issues..:-) diff -Nru kdebase-workspace-4.3.4.old/debian/changelog kdebase-workspace-4.3.4/debian/changelog --- kdebase-workspace-4.3.4.old/debian/changelog 2010-02-20 12:02:52.141004992 +0100 +++ kdebase-workspace-4.3.4/debian/changelog 2010-02-20 12:11:37.948996428 +0100 @@ -1,3 +1,11 @@ +kdebase-workspace (4:4.3.4-4.1) UNRELEASED; urgency=low + + * Non-maintainer upload. + * Fix pending l10n issues. During those sessions I often upgrade the xserver-xfree86 package (thanks to Branden's continous upgrade flow :>), which installs a new X11 server binary. In this situation, dpkg and the kernel keep both binaries on disk. The old one is kept as long as it is still running or used by kdm. There are 2 problems with this : - when the X11 session ends gracefully, kdm keeps the same X11 process. So the new server version is not used and the old binary disk space is not freed. - if the X11 server crashes, kdm still restarts the old version. I noticed this while trying to reproduce a crash. [ Pino Toscano ] * New upstream release: - fixes a typo in the "World Daylight Clock". (Closes: #566168) - fixes GTK+ expose events with GTK+ >= 2.18. (Closes: #566169) - links ggl-qt to X11 and Xrender (Closes: #554696) * This new version of google-gadgets breaks API and ABI once again, so: - rename library packages, 'b' suffix this time. - add conflict against 'a' libraries. - update -dev packages dependency accordingly. * Make use of the xulrunner dh addon, so dh_xulrunner is run again. * Switch from cURL to SOUP for the xml_http_request module. Other than being recommended upstream, this also avoid crashes which can happen with gnutls. (Closes: #566167) * Install the html-flash-element extension in the -common package. * Make libggadget-gtk-1.0-dev and libggadget-qt-1.0-dev depend respectively on libgtk2.0-dev and libqt4-dev, as they use their host libraries in the public headers. * Add patch 05_hurd_pthread.patch to force linking with pthread (workaround Hurd issue). * Add author and small descriptions to all the patches. * Refresh patch 03_GRE_Version.patch, thanks Mike Hommey for the hints. * Bump Standards-Version to 3.8.4, no changes required. * Slightly improve descriptions: add main blurb in each package, fix a couple of typos. * Add lintian overrides: - the names of the lib* packages don't reflect the SO-names of the library/ies contained. * Make dh_install ignore .la files. * Adjust capitalisation of "QT" to "Qt" also in the ggl-qt.7 manpage. * Add also the SOVERSION to the .install files. . [ Modestas Vainius ] * Since ABI breakages are going to continue, add *-api virtual packages to keep library count in the conflicts at the manageable level. Weird. I didn't receive any letters about additional info before... My mail server provider seems to be down again today. Bug#543733: Possible Solution
Hi, I recently experienced the same problem: Comic did not get new comic-strips, only the saved ones could be displayed. If you have installed network-manager but use the "classical" way with /etc/network/interface, the not configured network-manager seems to block comic from receiving new strips. The fast way to check this is to restart network-manager. After that Comic worked for me again, thus I deinstalled network-manager. Re: Bug#570369: kdm in squeeze is unable to handle kdm themes which worked in lenny
[Petter Reinholdtsen] > Perhaps. Actually, I believe the bug is in KDM, which provided a > way in lenny to set up ones own kdm theme, and is unable to write > the specified theme in Squeeze. Note, I ment 'read' when I used 'write' above. I've investigated some more, and the problem seem to be that kdm changed its understanding of the THEME setting. In /etc/default/kdm.d/20_debian-edu, we use THEME=/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/debian-edu Changing this to THEME=/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/debian-edu/debian-edu.xml make kdm able to understand the theme. There are still visual problems with it (the buttons are missing and the time stamp do not show up), but kdm do not fail to start. So either we had a bug in debian-edu-artwork which failed to trigger a problem with kdm in lenny, or the sematic of the THEME setting in kdm changed between lenny and squeeze. Only the kdm maintainer can tell what the intended behavour for the THEME setting in /etc/default/kdm.d/ was. Anyway, I suggest we change /etc/default/kdm.d/20_debian-edu in debian-edu-artwork for both Lenny and Squeeze to work around the problem (by adding /debian-edu.xml to the THEME setting), and fix up the theme to work in both Lenny and Squeeze as soon as possible. Bug#410635: marked as done (kdm: downloaded wallpaper not found by login mgr)

Chose it among all the wallpapers to select as background---I think at this point it was named "Created by Gimp" or something like that. Preview was showing it alright. Clicked Apply, OK, etc., restarted KDE---no wallpaper. Again as regular user went into Control Center, it showed the preview. Moved the wallpaper to my regular user's directory where I keep images, now it shows up with the correct name in the wallpaper choice-list, and can be used as background for the login manager. No big deal, of course, but still a bug. Bug#432346: marked as done (kamera: delay when copying files from PTP camera)

The camera is detected and I am able to browse the files. However when I try to copy them, there's a significant delay (~13 seconds per file) before the copying actually begins. During this time, the memory card is being accessed so something is happening, but no files are copied until this delay is over. For the 95 files I'm trying to copy, that means a delay of 20 minutes before the copying even starts. Gtkam does not have this issue and begins copying immediately, so this is something specific to Konqueror or the camera:// kio slave. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21.5 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kamera depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.7.dfsg.1-1 core libraries and binaries for al ii libc6 2.5-9GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.2-20070627-1 GCC support library ii libgphoto2-22.3.1-5+b1 gphoto2 digital camera library ii libgphoto2-port02.3.1-5+b1 gphoto2 digital camera port librar ii libstdc++6 4.2-20070627-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 kamera recommends no packages. -- debconf-show failed --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- I'm closing this bug report as it seems to be fixed since version 4.2.98 See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144733 Olivier --- End Message ---
