Bug#539620: kaddressbook: akonadi isn't really required
Package: kaddressbook Version: 4:4.2.4-1 Severity: normal The akonadi-server package isn't required for the package to work, so it should be into the suggested section. And don't tell me about the kde 4.3 because i've seen that it works without akonadi too. So it should just be suggested and not required. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-final (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kaddressbook depends on: ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.2.4-2runtime components from the offici ii kdelibs54:4.2.4-1core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii kdepimlibs5 4:4.2.4-1core libraries for KDE PIM 4 appli ii libc6 2.9-23 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgnokii4 0.6.27.dfsg-2+b1 Gnokii mobile phone interface libr ii libkabcommon4 4:4.2.4-1KDE PIM common addressbook library ii libkdepim4 4:4.2.4-1KDE PIM library ii libkleo44:4.2.4-1certificate based crypto library f ii libkontactinterfaces4 4:4.2.4-1KDE Kontact interface library ii libphonon4 4:4.5.2-1Qt 4 Phonon module ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.5.2-1Qt 4 D-Bus module ii libqt4-qt3support 4:4.5.2-1Qt 3 compatibility library for Qt ii libqt4-xml 4:4.5.2-1Qt 4 XML module ii libqtcore4 4:4.5.2-1Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.5.2-1Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++6 4.4.1-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 kaddressbook recommends no packages. Bug#539623: Phonon does not work with Qt !!
Package: phonon Version: 4:4.5.2-1 Severity: important Hello, Phonon, as is, does not work with Qt4. I keep getting errors in the spirit of: WARNING: bool Phonon::FactoryPrivate::createBackend() phonon backend plugin could not be loaded But, for sure, as can be seen below, the xine backend is installed all right. Digging out, I've found that just adding a symlink from /usr/lib/kde4/plugins/phonon_backend to /usr/lib/qt4/plugins is enough. Would you please kindly fix this problem ? BTW, it seems to me that I reported this problem some time ago, and that it was fixed, but maybe I've dreamt that one. Many thanks ! Bug#539623: Phonon does not work with Qt !!

Digging out, I've found that just adding a symlink from > /usr/lib/kde4/plugins/phonon_backend to /usr/lib/qt4/plugins is enough. I'm wondering wether we should move the phonon backends to /usr/lib/qt4, add breaks: p-b-xine, p-b-gstreamer in the appropriate verisons. > Would you please kindly fix this problem ? Of course. > BTW, it seems to me that I reported this problem some time ago, and > that it was fixed, but maybe I've dreamt that one. It was fixed, but reintroduced when phonon was merged into qt itself, but no one noticed so far, as most people apparantly uses phonon from within KDE where /usr/lib/kde4/plugins is searched by Qt. /Sune > > Many thanks ! > >Vincent, glad to have his videos back after playing around... > > > -- System Information: > Debian Release: squeeze/sid > APT prefers unstable > APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, > 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) > > Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) > Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) > Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash > > Versions of packages phonon depends on: > ii libphonon44:4.5.2-1 Qt 4 Phonon module > ii phonon-backend-xine [phonon-b 4:4.3.1-3 Phonon Xine 1.1.x backend > > phonon recommends no packages. > > Versions of packages phonon suggests: > pn phonon-backend-gstreamer (no description available) > pn phonon-backend-mplayer (no description available) > pn phonon-backend-vlc (no description available) > > -- no debconf information -- Do you know how could I do for receiving the pointer to the printer on a CD connection from Photoshop and from the preferences within iMac?
