The dialogbox "Edit Function Plot" doesn't fit within my 1024x600 size screen,
making the "OK", "Help" and "Cancel"
buttons appear outside the screen, not accessible. Would be nice if this
dialogbox could adjust itself to fit within
the smaller screen of popular notebooks.

I am closing the bugs as fixed in unstable, because kverbos is not longer
distributed in kde 4.
kverbos2, maybe coming in future kdeedu releases (if somebody takes care of
it), will provide this according to:

If I'm not mistaken, this package also provides a special tab in the
properties dialog of Konqueror where you can see and edit the Vorbis metadata
tags. However, after saving them, the Vorbis file is invalid. Just for the
record (experience shows this can be important!) I'm on a big-endian machine.

Note: I'm not exactly sure how severe this bug is for two reasons:
1. The file can still be played. I can't say if its quality was affected
though.
2. When using 'vorbiscomment -l' instead of 'ogginfo', it outputs the
information without complaining, but that tool is also not targeted at the
whole stream but only on the metadata tags.

Now I'm going to check how the plugin behaves when I have multiple ARTIST=
tags, but that's for another report. ;)

cheers!

Hi,

I know that KDE4 is only in experimental.

As there are no filename conflicts between kdemultimedia-kio-plugins between
KDE3 and KDE4,
the part that is used by programs that are not ported to KDE4 and have no
proper replacement either,
like kaudiocreator, should be kept available and co-installable with KDE4.

Maybe move/copy that bug to kdemultimedia-kio-plugins if you feel it's belongs
there.

This is upstream bug 85598, which is still considered "wishlist".

To workaround, go to the encoder settings, "register the defaults", then
restart KAudioCreator.

In the xine setting I don't have the option to set the audio device to
arts. xine-check doesn't give me any problems.

The end result is that I have to kill arts when I want to read a film

Hope this is easily solvable. Thank you.

I just tried to encode a CD called "Cruisin'". KAudioCreator doesn't escape
special characters, including single-quotes, in the command line. This causes
the encoding
process (using oggenc in this case) to fail if the track or album metadata
contains these unescaped quotes or other characters.

This should be simple to fix. It's been filed upstream for ten months at:

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117462

Maybe Debian could fix it sooner... :)

Package: kaudiocreator
Version: 3.1.1-1

If I use an "encoded file location" like
~/%extension/%artist/%album/%song.%extension
and the track title contains an exclamation mark (!) the mp3 file
cannot be saved.

The following error dialog pops up:

The encoded file was not created.

Please check your encoder options.

The wav file has been removed. Command was: lame --r3mix --tt 'Kumba Yo!
(Easy Buzz Remix)' --ta 'Mittermeier vs. Guano Babes' --tl 'Kumba Yo!'
--ty '0' --tn '03' --tg 'Other'
'/usr/tmp/kde-hans/kaudiocreator3N78Yb.tmp' '/home/hans/mp3/Mittermeier
vs. Guano Babes/Kumba Yo!/Kumba Yo! (Easy Buzz Remix).mp3'

The problem is that the "!" needs to be escaped on an ext2 partition.

I am using a completely up-to-date (2003-03-31) Debian Sid.

When a system with 2 or more CD drives is used to rip a CD from both
drives, it is reasonable to assume that setting "Number of tracks to rip

rip 2 off the same drive, leading to an extremely slow performance as
the disk seeks back and forth.

The dialogbox "Configure KStars" doesn't fit within my 1024x600 size screen,
making the "OK" , "Apply" and "Cancel"

dialogbox could adjust itself to fit within the
smaller screen of popular notebooks.

Bug#451963: [kalzium] stable?

2009-04-11 Thread Matthias Krüger
Hi Ana,

You mean testing 4:4.2.2-1?
I'll do so in around six days, when the new kdeedu version migrated to
testing.

Is it possible to fix the bug or remove the feature for the stable version?
I think the crash still occurs in stable.

Thank you for your fine work!
Matthias Krüger

Bug#523628: konqueror crashes on search in youtube

2009-04-11 Thread Arthur Marsh
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-2
Severity: normal

This happened after loading:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=brighton+secondary

then altering the search term to "brighton secondary school" then
hitting enter. Not reproducible but one of the annoyances that makes
me think that there was some bad code in konqueror.

eigen REMOVED from testing

2009-04-11 Thread Debian testing watch
FYI: The status of the eigen source package
in Debian's testing distribution has changed.

  Previous version: 1.0.5-2
  Current version: (not in testing)
  Hint: Package not in unstable

The script that generates this mail tries to extract removal
reasons from comments in the britney hint files. Those comments
were not originally meant to be machine readable, so if the
reason for removing your package seems to be nonsense, it is
probably the reporting script that got confused. Please check the
actual hints file before you complain about meaningless removals.

later changes on the next day.

Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-2
Severity: normal

This happened after loading:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=brighton+secondary

then altering the search term to "brighton secondary school" then
hitting enter. Not reproducible but one of the annoyances that makes
me think that there was some bad code in konqueror.

Bug#277427: Bug still present, more information

2009-04-11 Thread Paavo Pokkinen
I unarchived and reopened the bug, since I stumbled upon it. I'm using
current debian stable (lenny).

I'm using pam_ldap on common-auth. The passwords are not meant to be
changed in workstations, so I tried to disable it by setting pam_deny on
common-password.

However kdm doesn't seem to obey this, but brings to password change
dialog for user whos password is about to be expired (or has expired).
Then it starts very weird behavior, cursor keeps going between fields
like tab being pressed down constantly. It doesn't accept any input, nor
cancel button can't be pressed. Only way out is ctrl-alt-backspace.

This bug might be also present with any authentication backend when
password changing is disabled, or can't be done. Will test that later.

My common-auth:
authsufficient pam_unix.so nullok_secure
authrequisite   pam_succeed_if.so uid >= 1000 quiet
authoptionalpam_group.so use_first_pass
authsufficient pam_ldap.so use_first_pass
authrequiredpam_deny.so

And common-password:
password required pam_deny.so

Kdm version is: kdm/lenny uptodate 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6

Bug#523709: Plasma/Dolphin hangs on mousehover over a file in Dolphin browser

2009-04-11 Thread Boney

Package: dolphin
Severity: important

How to reproduce:
1. Login to KDE
2. Open File Browser (Dolphin)
3. Hover/click once on a file
4. Dolphin and KDE panel stops responding

I upgraded to KDE 4.2.2 earlier this week (I think 7th of April) and have
noticed that Dolphin/Plasma hangs when I open the file browser and hover over a
file (or sometimes if I click on the file once). After that, I can continue to
use Konsole and Iceweasel but neither of the file browser or the KDE panel
works.

I have tried to remove my ~/.kde and other temporary files from /tmp hoping it
was some configuration/file remaining from KDE3.5 but I can always reproduce
the behaviour. If I quit KDE when dolphin/plasma hangs (Ctrl+Alt+Backspace),
and go to a tty1, I cannot delete my ~/.kde folder. The command just hangs out
there (can't kill or Ctrl+C doesn't work either).

During this both the dolphin and plasma processes are in "D" state according to
ps uax and hence cannot be killed.

Temporary way out for this is to restart and try not to use dolphin. However,
this behaviour renders KDE unusable as a user might forget to not to use
Dolphin.

This is similar to behaviour described in:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdebase/+bug/261106
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=167885
