Bug#498131: konqueror: Does not render java test page with gij-4.3

2008-09-07 Thread Chris Carr
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-5
Severity: normal

This java test page:

http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml

displays fine in iceweasel 3.0.1-1 but not in konqueror. The latter just
shows a grey square with nothing in it. Java paths/alternatives etc. are
all defaults. (Sadly neither shows up in screenshots, so none are
attached.)

Java output follows:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ java -version
java version "1.5.0"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.3.1

I have also installed java-gcj-compat and java-gcj-compat-plugin (both
1.0.78-2).

Apologies if this has already been reported - I couldn't see it on the
list of bugs.

Bug#497187: Subject: kicker: lockout_panelapplet doesn't lock screen

2008-09-07 Thread cbothmer
On a complete reinstall I checked more of the optional packages of KDE and now
I can lock the screen. So it's not a problem of kicker itself but of its
dependencies.

Reportbug gives me the exactly same set of packages and status of packages.

Bug#495722: Uninstallable Qt-4.4.1 packages in experimental?

Hmmm... but its a bugfix release isnt it? Moving from
4.3 to 4.4 introduced several regressions in just my
one app, I'd expect others have fared equally poorly.
I'd like to either get the stability of 4.3.x back or
switch to this bug fix release... is there any chance
of either of those things? Another option would be
attempting to backport fixes from 4.4.1 ... would y'all
be open to patches that do that? AFAICT thats the only
option I'd have left to get stability in my app again
in lenny timeframe (re-writing this part of my app isnt
an option unfortunately, theres a significant amount of
code affected)... any thoughts?

cheers.

Yes. There is a big chance that we will accept targetted not too intrusive
bugfix changes, but I don't think we currently have manpower to isolate them
ourselves.

You should receive a folder for sending a USB button to the software of a
