Nobody knows how to fix this... has caused the Debian Bug report #492231, regarding konqueror: unable to mount fixed drives to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. I got "hal-storage-fixed-mount-all-options refused uid 500" when i click on a fixed hard-disk, or right-click and then "mount", same thing... No problem with konqueror as root (yes i am in plugdev group, but still...). No problem with removable devices (pen or hard-disks). This is starting to sound ridiculous. > Live cd only, i ain't installed anything You could have said this earlier. Debian does have some LiveCDs but not something very official. Read http://debian-live.alioth.debian.org/, wiki, ask on mailing list or their IRC. Debian Live is highly customizable and it might be that simply LiveCD provider missed some option or something. Anyway, this is not konqueror problem and it is not really a bug but rather a user support question. It might be a wishlist bug if the feature is not implemented. So feel free to reopen the bug on the real package (live cd generator) it belongs to. konqueror behaviour is just fine with regard to system policies. >yes, i know, read the "original bug report" please (as you mentioned before, >quoting me) Again, I'll quote you "Installing debian etch on several computers and with 5 different kernels (2.6.15, 18, 22, 24 and 25)". Bug#292152: Another example
I just ran across this bug too, on http://www.somethingawful.com/ Their RSS feed http://www.somethingawful.com/rss/index.rss.xml, has this error (when opened in Konquror): [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Zack "Geist Editor" Parsons & Steve "Malak" Sumner) ^ In case that gets mangled, the "^" is just after the "&" in "Parsons & Steve". I have asked the somethingawful.com webmaster to fix their RSS feed. But it would be better if Akregator (and Konquror?) could handle malformed XML like many other aggregators & web browsers, and give a warning instead of refusing to load. I reassigned this bug to "konqueror", hoping that someone who knows konqueror better could help you (I don't really know konqueror myself, and neither do many people who read bugreports for "general", I think). You are right, but maybe "hal" it's more specific for my question...And anyway, now we know that nobody that know konqueror can help me... In the beginning i was not sure if it was a hal or konqueror or whateverelse thing, so i choosed general... Thank to you now i know that is a debian thing :P I'm kidding, i think all the concept behind debian are very good, so please don't make me change distro cause of this stupid problem, i spent 2 years to reach this point with my debian system...one of them asking for a decent workaround for this hal thing... The only answers i want are: 1) if this is a bug how to fix it 2) if it is a debian security choise (very good, but a big problem for me), show me where is it!! Hi, Wednesday 30 July 2008, Notch-1 rašė: > If you are bothered or whatever, please make me talk with a hal developer, > thanks You are not forbidden to do anything. Just look at http://packages.debian.org/hal and contact the maintainer yourself. But, please, KDE has nothing to do with this "bug", that's hal refusing your action. I sincerely tried to explain "workarounds" for you but you would not listen. If some kubuntu livecd works for you (I bet knoppix and/or sidux would work the same way too, because they are LiveCDs. I would expect the LiveCD to behave so), that's great. But official Debian installation is not a LiveCD. You are bothering the wrong people. -- Modestas Vainius <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Bug#493012: konqueror-nsplugins: Plugins section should always be present?
Package: konqueror-nsplugins Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-4 Severity: normal After reporting a bug on bugs.kde.org about the appearance of about:plugins in konqueror when konqueror-nsplugins is not installed, I got this response: The plugins section in the SETTINGS DIALOG should always exist. If not, your distributor messed up your konqueror packages and you should file a bug against that. In Debian the Plugins Section in the Konqueror preferences disappears when konqueror-nsplugins is uninstalled. Bug#493034: kdeedu: FTBFS [amd64]: couldn't find library libcompoundviewer.so.4 needed by debian/kalzium/usr/bin/kalzium
Package: kdeedu Version: 4:4.1.0-1 Severity: serious Hi, when I try to build kdeedu from experimental on my amd64 machine, I get: ... dh_perl -pkalzium dh_shlibdeps -pkalzium dpkg-shlibdeps: failure: couldn't find library libcompoundviewer.so.4 needed by debian/kalzium/usr/bin/kalzium (its RPATH is ''). Note: libraries are not searched in other binary packages that do not have any shlibs or symbols file. To help dpkg-shlibdeps find private libraries, you might need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH. dh_shlibdeps: command returned error code 512 make: *** [binary-predeb-IMPL/kalzium] Error 1 dpkg-buildpackage: failure: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit status2 This persists even if I remove previous versions of kdeedu. -- Daniel Schepler -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#483790: QTreeView/QTreeWidgetItemIterator bugs
Hi guys, Any idea when 4.4.1 is planned? This seems to be taking a looong time. Any way we could get a patch for this issue included in the meantime, if it looks like it will be still awhile? thanks! -- Nathan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
