Bug#482457: evolution on KDE 4.1 (experimental) segfaults

reassign 482457 kdebase-runtime 4:4.0.74-1
thanks

I have a hard time figuring out why this should segfault this way. As far as I
know, evolution is a gtk app, which is why I have absolutely no idea why it
is running code to draw qt widgets.

Is there gtk-qt4-engine involved in anyway? (If yes, then try disable it)

Getting a full backtrace would also be interesting.

You are definately wrong about reassigning to icon package. it is only icons
and they can't segfault themselves. Reassigning so far to kdebase-runtime
where code for oxygen widget style is located.

Yes, it is. Disabling it solves the problem. Should the bug be moved to
gtk-qt4-engine? If so, how to do it?

Package: desktop-base
Version: 4.0.7
Severity: minor

In the default install with kdm 4:4.0.68+svn794641-1, the login screen
shows up with my name pre-filled (from the last login) and the cursor
shown in the password field. But I cannot type in it. Trying to Tab to
it doesn't work either. I need to click the password field with the
mouse before it starts to respond. (There is no visual difference when
I click it.)

Guess it would be tricky to log in without a mouse!

I haven't tried kdm from unstable with the desktop-base package.

Bug#482582: kdpf should have a higher mime/mailcap priority than kghostview's

2008-05-23 Thread situert situert
Package: kpdf
Version: 4:3.5.9-1+b2

Hello,

There are many PDF documents that kpdf can display properly whereas
kghostview cannot. (I can provide examples if needed.) For this reason,
the mime/mailcap priority of kpdf should be higher than that of
kghostview.

Currently, kpdf and kghostview both have a priority of 5. To make sure
that kpdf is used to display PDF documents, kpdf should have a priority
of 6 or higher (in "/usr/lib/mime/packages/kpdf".)

For the record, Ubuntu ships with a "/usr/lib/mime/packages/kpdf" file
which has a priority of 6 for kpdf.

Thank you for your attention.

situert

Bug#482609: kdepim-kio-plugins: kmail downloads the same messages in each mail check

2008-05-23 Thread Noel David Torres Taño
Package: kdepim-kio-plugins
Version: 4:3.5.9-2
Severity: normal

I use kmail with spamassassin to get and read my e-mail. I receive tons of spam
since my address is public (you can find it at a lot of
places, not the least Debian BTS) but I receive legitimate messages at the same
address. It is an IMAP account.
Kmail regularly checks for new e-mail. It is normal to download complete
messages to check them through spamassassin. But the problem is that
kmail, through kio-imap, download every message every time. So all messages are
completely downloaded, checked and then reuploaded all times,
thus wasting a lot of bandwidth and (even worst) time.
Sometimes, so much time than the next regular check starts just after finishing
uploading messages from the previous.

Is not possible to make kio-imap to cache which messages have been spamassassin
checked?

Problem is reproducible:
1 take an IMAP account on some server
2 configure kmail to check that account regularly, with a relatively short
period
3 configure kmail to check all incoming messages through spamassasin (standard
local spamassassin)
4 publish your e-mail address

This problem causes another, harder one. Sometimes, if you have a small failure
in your internet connexion, or just a burst of load, kmail
starts a new check without finishing the previous one, and shows you the same
message several times on screen. It has happened a lot of
times, and I've checked into the server real directories and there are no such
messages there. So there is some sort of caching, but it does
not work well. If you click one of the repeated messages, kmail downloads it
and shows it to you. If you click the other, kmail shows you an
empty message. Refreshing does not help. Trying to move the "empty" message to
another folder of the same IMAP account causes kmail to crash.

If you restart kmail almost immediately, since kio-imap4 is still alive, the
problem persists and you still see duplicated messages (I've
seen once octuplicated messages, and several times triplicated and
quadruplicated ones).

To put in one sentence: kmail+spamassassin on IMAP sucks (not intended to be
offensive, just my feeling). And I need kmail and spamassasin
because my local folders are maildir and i receive tons (not uncommon 200/day)
spam messages.

Bug#482624: kopete: notify a ssl-message before entering the password

2008-05-23 Thread Michael Vogt
Package: kopete
Version: 4:3.5.9-1
Severity: wishlist

When you use the crypto-modul from kopete and you recieve an encrypted message,
first the password-prompt for your GPG-Key appears and AFTERWARDS the
new-message notification, so that you are not notified about the message. It
would be better that the notification comes before the password prompt, so that
you know that there is a new message.

Greets,
Michael

I do have libkpty.so.

I retried it with make VERBOSE=1 and this is the command I used to link
libsmokekde:
