Bug#330170: korganizer: Can't enable a reminder for events by default

2006-10-11 Thread Tino Keitel
Package: korganizer
Version: 4:3.5.3-3
Followup-For: Bug #330170

Hi,

I just upgraded to Etch and hoped to find such a feature. Unfortunaly,
I still can not find it.

I think this option is a _must have_ for a tool like korganizer,
otherwise I can continue to use post-its.

Could you please at least forward this request upstream? I think the
impact and effort to implement it are very small.

Regards,
Tino

[Packaging] Shared library / ld undefined references

2006-10-11 Thread Damien Ulrich
Hi all,
I'm quite new to debian packaging...

I've just terminated a shared library under kdevelop
using qt(3), kdeui & khtml

$ ./configure && make && make install
no problem

Now, I'd like to make lib.deb and lib-dev.deb
$ dh_make -c gpl [library]
Here, I'm not sure of my modifications of the generated files
and their dependencies (shlibs ?)
for example :
the file 'shlibs.local.ex' renamed in 'shlibs.local', contains :
liblibtzolkalc 0.2 libtzolkalc (>> 0.2-0), libtzolkalc (<< 0.2-99)
note the double liblib, why that naming here ??
I also uncommented dh_makeshlibs in debian/rules
-quite not sure-

$ dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot
The objects are correctly compiled, then :
...
.libs/kinwidget.o:(.data.rel.ro._ZTV9KinWidget[vtable for KinWidget]+0x1d8):
undefined reference to `QWidget::close(bool)'
...
showkin.cpp:(.text+0x2c2f): undefined reference to `QString::shared_null'
showkin.cpp:(.text+0x2c39): undefined reference to `QStringData::deleteSelf()'
...
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

I understand that's linker's dependencies problems (I'm just reading man ld)
but where to configure them for debianization ?

Thanks per advance
Dams

Considering my work schedule atm, let's postpone this transition to etch

Bug#392468: korganizer: description needs improvement

2006-10-11 Thread Filipus Klutiero
Package: korganizer
Version: 4:3.5.4-1+b1
Severity: minor

This report covers several different issues in the package description.
Feel free to close it when you feel that most issues are addressed.

The description has an advertisement look when it reads "Best
of all". vCalendar support is mentioned twice. ", It" should read ",
it". "Starfish Internet Sidekick" is an old product not even in
Wikipedia's list of PIMs. "all for the Microsoft Windows platform, of
course." is superfluous. "Current users of the popular program ical should
definitely take a look at KOrganizer and
compare features." is really out of the scope of a package description.

Note that it is strange that kpilot is not suggested by the package if
one reads the current description.

I'd suggest the following revision:

This package contains KOrganizer, a calendar and scheduling program.

KOrganizer aims to be a complete program for organizing appointments, contacts,
projects, etc.
KOrganizer natively supports information interchange with other calendar
applications through the industry standard vCalendar personal data interchange
file format. This eases moving from most other modern PIMs to KOrganizer.

KOrganizer offers full synchronization with Palm Pilot, if kpilot is installed.

This package is part of KDE, and a component of the KDE PIM module.
See the 'kde' and 'kdepim' packages for more information

Will do.

Thanks for the information. And yes, the KDE code is almost certainly to
blame here. Hopefully KDE4 will clean things up.

Bug#391357: kwin: Problems with patch depend on windows decoration

2006-10-11 Thread Rudolf Lohner
Package: kwin
Version: 4:3.5.5-1
Followup-For: Bug #391357

Here is some additional information on my report from Oct. 10:
The occurrence of the reported problems obviously depends on the windows
decoration.

Starting KDE with 'Keramik'-decoration generates the reported problems.
Switching to decoration 'KDE2', e.g., in the running KDE session eliminates
the problems almost completely: everything appeared to work correctly,
except the transition with the mouse from one xterm to another
horizontally did not discover the windows border (no horizontal double
arrow, no resize possible). Moving the xterms around several times
removed this error also.

Starting KDE with 'KDE2'-decoration does not generate any problems. Also
switching to 'Keramik' the same session does not produce any of the
reported errors.

So, I conclude: The reported errors occur (only) if decoration 'Keramik'
is active at KDE start.

These types of errors are occassionally encountered when upgrading. A
restart of X (or the whole system) should almost certainly fix it
(we've had such reports in the past, and they always go away). Rather
than block the release, I'm downgrading this bug's severity for the
moment, but if I'm wrong and a reset doesn't make the problem go away,
let us know.

Bug#392245: save doesnt work

2006-10-11 Thread Christopher Martin
tags 392245 unreproducible
severity 392245 important
notfound 392245 4:3.5.5a-1
stop

I can't reproduce this using an up-to-date system. Unless it can be
confirmed to happen on something recent, I don't think it should be an
RC release blocker.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks,
Christopher Martin
