Bug#379378: kdeprint: poster printing: requires modified "poster"

2006-07-23 Thread Adrian 'Dagurashibanipal' von Bidder
Package: kdeprint
Version: 4:3.5.3-2
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi,

When I want to use poster printing ("Poster" Tab of the printer
properties dialog), it says "poster: invalid option -- F" and the
"Filters" Tab informs me:

WARNING: The package found on the KDEPrint web site is a modified
version of the original one that can be found on any CTAN archive
mirror, but the original package will not work with KDE. You must
use the package found on the KDEPrint web site.

While this behaviour is probably ok for upstream KDE, this is exactly
the integration work I think we (DD) should do...

So please either disable the poster functionality (not good...) or
provide a poster-kdeprint package that conflicts/replaces the original
poster tool and have kdeprint depend on that, or convince poster
upstream or Debian maintainer (cc:ed, if I did the magic correctly) to
accept KDE's modifications.

thanks & greetings

Bug#342215: kmail crashes very oftenly on SPARC (other KDE apps crash too, but not so often)

2006-07-23 Thread Christopher Martin
Hi,

Can you confirm that the crashes you reported still afflict the latest
KDE 3.5.3? It's been seven months since the report, and we've had no
other reports of KMail crashes on sparc since.

Thanks,
Christopher Martin

Bug#379446: kpdf does not render Japanese properly: does not read system-wide xpdfrc

2006-07-23 Thread Junichi Uekawa
Package: kpdf
Version: 4:3.5.3-1

Hi,

kpdf reads xpdfrc in the following locations according to strace.

~/.xpdf
./xpdf

kpdf should probably leverage what xpdf has done, and read /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc.

$ strace kpdf
~/cvscheckout/external/tokyodebian/monthly-report/debianmeetingresume200612.pdf
 2>&1 |grep xpdfrc
open("/home/dancer/.xpdfrc", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open("xpdfrc", O_RDONLY)= -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

Reading xpdfrc from xpdf, with xpdf and xpdf-japanese packages installed, it is
possible to display Japanese.

Tested with PDF files in http://tokyodebian.alioth.debian.org/

regards,
junichi

Package: kimagemapeditor
Version: 3.4.3-2

Running debian etch on i386. Kimagemapeditor crashes on startup. It will
run the executable though:

kimagemapeditor --version
Qt: 3.3.6
KDE: 3.5.2
KimageMapEditor: 3.4.3

Running under gnome, don't have kde installed, just whichever qt/ kde
libraries apt installed when installing kimagemapeditor. Another qt app,
qjackctl, works fine.

Please advise how I can provide more useful information.

Hi,

this is my first BTS report ever, so please be patient with me ;-).

When I try to use kimdaba 2.1-1 on testing, I get since the update
from libqt3c102-mt to libqt3-mt a crash, when kimdaba tries to
show an image. The gdb session using libqt3-mt-dbg is shown below.

Fixing bug #274738 for binutils will allow to build qt-x11-free without
the xgot hack on mips/mipsel. Since this may also break the existing
xgot support, a rebuild without the files in debian/patches

00list.mips
00list.mipsel
21_fix_mips_mipsel.dpatch

is needed then.

Hi,

all README.* files reside in libqt3-mt-dev and this is not right, IMHO.
I don't see a single reason why one should need to install a development
package to read the README's.

Hi,

as the debian packages for Qt use immodule-qt, they should include the
README.immodule to tell users how to disable XIM if they want and to
inform anybody using Qt that the packages contain this extra piece of
software.

Hi,

qt3-designer needs to put a symlink into /usr/share/qt3/bin as
/usr/share/qt3 is what is used as QTDIR with various applications and
they expect designer to be under QTDIR/bin. The symlink also needs to be
designer, not designer-qt3.

Bug#379471: kdesdk-scripts: kde-emacs doesn't work with emacs-snapshot

2006-07-23 Thread Andreas Pakulat
Package: kdesdk-scripts
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I just found out that kde-emacs does not work with emacs-snapshot
package because those contain cc-mode 5.31.3. The problem is that for
cc-mode 5.31 the function c-narrow-out-enclosing-class was removed,
which is needed for kde-emacs.

The removal of this function makes indentation unusable, emacs won't
indent upon pressing tab due to the error.

I already filed a bugreport upstream, this is just to notice KDE
Maintainers about this issue, in case emacs-snapshot somewhen moves to
Etch...

I'll add a forwarded-upstream note as soon as the bugreport is created.

If you create a new script, and modify the language from Python to Ruby,
kexi crashes. The only message is to say it crashed. I notice that
although Kexi now supports Rubby as a scripting language there are no
Ruby dependancies and that this is a dependancy problem but I may be
wrong.

Bug#342215: kmail crashes very oftenly on SPARC (other KDE apps crash too, but not so often)

Sorry, but can't test at this moment. To upgrade to that version, I would have
to update to xorg, which is broken for SPARC. :-(

Bug#379520: kmail: I'd like to be able to edit To, Subject, Cc, and Bcc in external editor

2006-07-23 Thread Thomer M. Gil
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.3-3
Severity: wishlist

It'd be wonderful if I could edit headers in the external editor. Mutt, for
example, allows you to specify nicknames on the To: line in the editor (or
edit any header on outgoing mail, for that matter). When exiting the editor,
nicknames get expanded to the full name and email addresses. Similar
functionality in KMail would be great.

OK, until we get some reasonable confirmation that the bug is still
present, I'm lowering to 'important'.
