Bug#374979: tapping doesn't work in kde-applications for kde 3.5
Package: kde Version: 5:47 Severity: normal Hello, I recently upgraded sarge to etch (IBM thinkpad). Suddenly tapping doesn't work any more. I checked control center and it is activated. Now, I realise that tapping works for non-kde applications (eg. firefox, but not konqueror, kate, etc.). Even more funny: it works if I tap on a link in a web page opened by konqueror, but it doesn't work, if I tap on the top menu of konqueror, the task bar or any other kde-application I tried. Tapping works on kdm's login shell. If I create a new user, tapping works for the initial configuration wizard. It doesn't work any more once the wizard is finished. I tried various combinations of options for control centre's touch pad entry, but none seems apt to reactivate 'ordinary' tapping behaviour, ie. tapping on a menue item activates it. I always have to klick on the touch pad's mouse button. Furthermore there are no help pages available for touch pad configuration. Bug#372564: kwalletmanager very often crashes at KDE Logout
Package: kwalletmanager Version: 4:3.5.3-1 Followup-For: Bug #372564 I experience the same problem here on my system since the update to kdeutils-3.5.3; when I log on to KDE on my local machine kwalletmanager asks for the password (kontact and konqueror start automatically and request information from a wallet), after entering the password information is given, so it seems that the wallet has been opened, but the symbol in kicker never appears. When I'm ending the KDE session, either by 'Log off user' or by 'shut down system', I receive a SIGSEGV from kwalletmanager and the system hangs, mostly until the OK button is pressed, but I also experienced twice that I had to manually kill the X-server. It is not possible to manually start configuration of kwalletmanager by selecting from K-menu or by entering 'kwalletmanager %u' in a shell, only via the control center the settings for kwalletmanager can be reached. But when I start a KDE application remote via SSH -Y on my windows machine (there's the cygwin X server running), kwalletmanager starts normally, its icon is shown for the specified time and when I end the application kwalletmanager ends itself normally, too. I have just rebuilt the kbabel package, that's why I have 3.5.2-1
instead of +b2 (or sth similar). Please apply means I would like to see
it in Debian patches for upcoming (I hope) 3.5.3 Debian packages,
because I don't know when it will be applied upstream.
