Hello,

no PNG-Icons are diplayed in my application (packagesearch).
For example the following code has no effect (used to work before):
QPixmap appIcon("packagesearch.png");
setIcon(appIcon);
Switching to an XPM-icon works fine.
The workaround for the old icon-bug (#347251) - deinstalling the debug
package - did not work.

Best regards

Ben

I've found the reason that caused this bug for me. It was that my icons
got corrupted during a cvs2svn transition, and thus they were invalid.
Sorry for the report.

Bug#369777: kmail: crash on manual filtering

2006-06-01 Thread Ph. Marek
X-Reportbug-Version: 3.20
X-Debbugs-Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.2-1+b2
Severity: normal

I changed an existing filter to move the messages to another folder, marked
all messages in a folder (with CTRL-A) and told kmail to re-filter (via
CTRL-J).

On a restart marking the messages of the "old" folder and re-filtering worked;
also ok for the "new" folder.

Bug#369795: kimagemapeditor crashes on start up

2006-06-01 Thread Matthew Yee-King
Package: kimagemapeditor
Version: 3.4.3-2

Running debian etch on i386. Kimagemapeditor crashes on startup. It will
run the executable though:

kimagemapeditor --version
Qt: 3.3.6
KDE: 3.5.2
KimageMapEditor: 3.4.3

Running under gnome, don't have kde installed, just whichever qt/ kde
libraries apt installed when installing kimagemapeditor. Another qt app,
qjackctl, works fine.

Please advise how I can provide more useful information.

best

matthew

When the current working directory in which kuickshow was started
has no write permissions, the printing (in my case configured via CUPS)
does not work. In the controlling terminal, the following diagnostics
is printed:
KTempFile: Error trying to create kuickshowXX.png: Permission denied

To work this around, kuickshow should be started in a directory one
has write permissions for.

Have you tried it since libasound2 was upgraded to 1.0.11-7? It is my
understanding that a bug in that library was causing the artsd problems.

Bug#369830: kmail: since 3.5.x now way to hide IMAP INBOX prefix

2006-06-01 Thread Juergen Pfennig
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.2-1+b2
Severity: normal

Hi, this could be a documentation problem ... but kmail seems to have
neither an up-to-date home page nor is the help of much use.

Here some details:

On my Cyrus IMAP server I see (as user cyrus) folders like

   user.centauri
   user.centauri.Archive
   user.centauri.Current

and as user centauri:

   INBOX
   INBOX.Archive
   INBOX.Current

e.g. INBOX is a prefix for the folders that actually contain my data.
In previous versions kmail allowed me to specify "INBOX." as a prefix
and the folder tree in kmail looked as I wanted:

   Centauri
   -+-Archive
+-Current

Since 3.5 this no longer works (the prefix option is gone) and setting
"personal" in the namespace fields does not help. The confusing tree
looks now like:

   Centauri
   ---INBOX
  -+-Archive
   +-Current

This unwanted "INBOX" is quite confusing for most people and wastes space
on the screen.

Jürgen

I simply cannot install qt4-x11, therefore I cannot get the

The following NEW packages will be installed
  libmysqlclient15-dev libpq-dev libsqlite0-dev libssl-dev
xlibmesa-gl-dev

Need to get 8858kB/9603kB of archives.
After unpacking 26.8MB of additional disk space will be used.

I agree this is quite annoying (my Courier IMAP accounts are affected in
the same way). According to upstream, the old "Prefix" handling was a
hack, and with KDE 3.5, kmail now properly supports namespaces. Also
according to the upstream bug, this will not be fixed in KDE 3.5, but may
be fixed in KDE 4. I suggest voting for the bug in the KDE bug tracker.

Thanks,
Josh

Bug#350773: Really unreproducible?

Steps 2 and 3 are not actually required. The bug is still present in

Do you really need even more informations? It seems fairly trivial to
reproduce to me.

KMail should allow to specify a default outgoing mail (SMTP) server for each
sender (configured mail account). This can ease the life for users with
multiple e-mail accounts and associated SMTP(S) services.

Why would this be qt4's problem? I'd think nvidia-glx-dev would be the
one that needs fixing.

Bug#369894: kdelibs-bin: Package description should be changed to "not longer needed"

2006-06-01 Thread Frederik Schwarzer

Package: kdelibs-bin
Version: 4:3.5.2-2+b1
Severity: normal

As I read in
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/k/kdelibs/kdelibs_3.5.3-1/changelog.txt
the kdelibs-bin package is not longer needed due to be merged with kdelibs4c2a.
A few days ago, aptitude was up to remove kdelibs-bin. I stopped
upgrading my system from then
to avoid trouble.
Maybe others do so as well.
If the package description would be changed to some "not longer
needed" stuff, everybody
(who reads that) would know better.

Bug#369894: kdelibs-bin: Package description should be changed to "not longer needed"

2006-06-01 Thread Frederik Schwarzer

Hi,

after a dist-upgrade which removed package kdelibs-bin, the package
description changed to"
Package: kdelibs-bin
State: not a real package
Provided by: kdelibs4c2a

It seemes to me, that this description just came when I did the dist-upgrade.
I don't understand, how the description comes to my box.
Maybe it comes with the package itself?
At least in this case it would have been better if it had come with
"aptitude update", so one could have seen that it is not longer needed
before removing it.

But as I said, I don't understand the process that well, so maybe I
could have said "Ok, now it's there." instead. ;)

regards

Bug#369899: kcontrol: should suggest ntpdate

2006-06-01 Thread Filipus Klutiero
Package: kcontrol
Version: 4:3.5.3-1
Severity: wishlist

I was eagerly awaiting KDE 3.4 in Etch until I tried it and couldn't
find a way to synchronize the clock by NTP. Today someone learned me
that kcmshell clock could actually do that. The trick is that,
apparently, some *ntp* packages have to be installed. I tried ntpdate
first, and that worked. I don't know NTP enough to say if other packages
can provide the same functionality.

Suggesting ntpdate won't be much helpful for other people, who would
better see the option in kcmshell clock anyway, and being told to
install ntpdate when they attempt to use it, but I guess this report
will remind me to open a bug upstream about that later.

krdc recommends rdesktop, but there is nothing unusual in using krdc
without needing rdesktop, so rdesktop should not be recommended.

Hi!

Current kopete crashes when entering the device configuration dialog.
While I have lost the backtrace, I could figure out the crash site and
make a crude patch.

As you might guess, I do not have any AVDevices attached to my system.
