It gets put in there, no problem. If I later drag another file "foo" to the trash can, Konqueror confusingly asks if I want to overwrite the file "foo". Now, I see why it's doing this (because it's using the same logic as for any other folder), but for the trash can, that makes no sense. It should just rename it as it goes in. (Nautilus, for instance, takes that approach) Another option would be to use some internal filename hashing of some sort. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux wile 2.4.20 #2 Mon Jun 9 14:29:13 CDT 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_US Versions of packages konqueror depends on: ii kate 4:3.1.2-1 KDE Advanced Text Editor ii kcontrol 4:3.1.2-1 KDE Control Center ii kdelibs4 4:3.1.2-2 KDE core libraries ii kfind 4:3.1.2-1 KDE File Find Utility ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.12-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc6 2.3.1-17 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c1022.6.10-1 client library to control the FAM ii libgcc11:3.3.1-0pre0 GCC support library ii libjpeg62 6b-8 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkonq4 4:3.1.2-1 Core libraries for KDE's file mana ii libpng12-0 1.2.5.0-4 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt 3:3.1.1-8 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.1-0pre0 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii xlibs 4.3.0-0ds4X Window System client libraries ii zlib1g 1:1.1.4-13compression library - runtime -- no debconf information --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Version: 4:3.5.2-1 This seems to be fixed in Etch. Bug#366476: kpager: explain purpose in package description
Package: kpager Version: 4:3.5.2-2+b1 Severity: minor The kpager package is described as follows, along the principle that everything I say three times is true: Description: desktop pager for KDE This package contains KDE's desktop pager This is meaningful for those who already know what kpager does, otherwise not. A pager is all kinds of things -- a device to page people, for instance, or a more-like program that divides content into pages. I suggest: Description: iconic display of KDE's desktops This package contains KDE's desktop pager, which displays your virtual desktops iconically in a window and is used to switch between them Dave -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages kpager depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.2-2+b1 core libraries for all KDE applica ii libc6 2.3.6-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.1.0-1GCC support library ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.6-2Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libstdc++6 4.1.0-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-62:1.0.0-6X11 client-side library kpager recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#366477: kmail chooses odd character sets when replying/forwarding multi-part messages
Package: kmail Version: 4:3.5.2-1+b1 Severity: important Since installing kmail 3.5.2-1+b1, some email recipients have complained that my emails are sometimes inappropriately encoded in iso-8859-6 (arabic). It appears, through trial and error, that the only emails that are inappropriately encoded are replies/forwards from multi-part mime messages. Normally, these messages are ascii/html messages from Outlook. "Set Encoding" in the Kmail dropdown menu is set to "auto". The character sets listed are in alphabetical order and iso-8859-6 is first in the list. My best guess is that the text encoding logic in kmail is not identifying a known character set, then choosing the first one in the list. In the kmail configuration under composer->charset, the charsets include us-ascii, ios-8859-1 and utf-8. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (400, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.13 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages kmail depends on: ii kdebase-kio-plugins 4:3.5.2-1 core I/O slaves for KDE ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.2-2+b1 core libraries for all KDE applica ii kdepim-kio-plugins4:3.5.2-1+b1 KDE pim I/O Slaves ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libaudio2 1.7-6 The Network Audio System (NAS). (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: konqueror Version: 4:3.5.1-1 Severity: important Hi, it seems konqueror makes using amazon.de a real pain :-( I can reproducibly crash konqueror searching on amazon.de for various artists/albums. The attached traceback was produced by searching for "Will Smith", yesterday when looking for some covers I had some other strings that would just SIGABRT oder SIGSEGV konqueror (or better said khtml). There are however searches that work, for example "Red Hot Chili Peppers". For now I'm not reporting this upstream as I'm not sure wether it really is an upstream issue (did not find any indication on bugs.kde.org). So if you think I should report upstream, please drop me a note. Andreas PS: I can't remember having those problems with KDE 3.5.0 or 3.4.3. I'm really sure 3.4.3 worked perfectly. PPS: A short test on amazon.com showed no crashes, but their site has a completely different layout. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'experimental'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages konqueror depends on: ii kcontrol 4:3.5.1-1 control center for KDE ii kdebase-kio-plugins 4:3.5.1-1 core I/O slaves for KDE ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.1-4.0core libraries for all KDE applica ii kdesktop 4:3.5.1-1 miscellaneous binaries and files f ii kfind 4:3.5.1-1 file-find utility for KDE ii libacl1 2.2.36-1 Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libattr1 2.4.32-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio2 1.7-6 The Network Audio System (NAS).
