Bug#361421: work around
This is related to http://bugs.debian.org/361127 a work around is to remove the setting: "Show window list while switching windows" This avoids the crash, and does navigate all desktops again. tags 347843 moreinfo thanks In 3.5.2 I noticed that the spam icon (the green and white recycling arrows) is missing.
