Bug#351665: kopete: Bubble notification stops working intermittently
Package: kopete Version: 4:3.5.1-2 Severity: normal I just upgraded to the version of Kopete in unstable, so if this behavior annoys me, I can always return back to the version in testing. So it seems that the gyrating Kopete icon in the system tray has been replaced with a static chat bubble icon. Unfortunately, this notification isn't exactly strong. I understand that an animated icon can be a bit annoying when you're trying to work, but sometimes I like the option of having that kind of notification. I don't mind the static icon, though, because there's the pop-up bubble notification. The problem I'm having is that my pop-up bubbles stop working after some period of time. If close Kopete and reload the application, the bubbles start working again, but it seems that after some period of time, they stop working. So I should probably admit that I'm not using Kopete with a full KDE desktop. Instead, I'm just using it in a small WM (Ion3). However, I think that Kopete's functionality should be dependent on running in KDE. Also, I haven't verified this problem on any other computer yet. I just wanted to post this bug report in the event that others have seen this problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (90, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.14-hole Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages kopete depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a4:3.5.1-1 core libraries for all KDE applica ii libacl12.2.34-1 Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libattr1 2.4.25-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio2 1.7-3 The Network Audio System (NAS). Bug#328559: devices:/ doesn't work: "Protocol not supported"
You can see that there is a devices.desktop file in the dir "/home/emi/.kde/share/apps/konqsidebartng/virtual_folders/services" that belong to your old kde 3.3 settings. You could change it to link to media:/ and not devices:/ It's simple. If you create a new user, this file is not generated, so neither media or devices appears in the sidebar. kdelibs override disparity
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the override file for the following file(s): kdelibs_3.5.1-2_all.deb: package says section is kde, override says libs. Re: KDE 3.5.0 final packages now on alioth
I don't have much else to add except I'm having the same problem. I had to temporarily enable both of my panels to never auto-hide so I could use them. Gunter Ohrner wrote: Gunter Ohrner wrote: > I misinterpreted the symptoms: It's kicker's autohide which doesn't work any more for me. Bug#351749: quanta: Quanta crashes immediately after saving document with Ctrl-S
Package: quanta Version: 4:3.5.1-1 Severity: important Quanta crashes immediately after saving the current document by pressing Ctrl-S. The document is saved properly, the crash occours after the save operation. A crash occours about once an hour during normal PHP development. My hardware is stable, not overclocked nicely cooled. RAM is tested and free of errors. My CPU is an Intel P4 @ 3GHz with HT enabled. I use a misc 2.6.15 kernel with SMP support. Other applications seems to work as expected.
