Bug#342215: kmail crashes very oftenly on SPARC (other KDE apps crash too, but not so often)
Package: kmail Version: 4:3.4.2-2 Severity: critical Justification: causes serious data loss Since I upgraded KDE to 3.4.x, I'm getting unpleasant crashes on various KDE applications but the most serious, because of the frecuency in which it happens is kmail. The worst part is that, as kmail is compiled without debuging symbols, I can't debug much on what's happening, and all I have are the signals with which it dies (4 "Illegal Instruction", and 11 "Invalid memory reference"). *** KMail got signal 11 (Crashing) KCrash: Application 'kmail' crashing... And this doesn't happen when doing something especifically. For example, if I type to fast when composing, it sometimes crashes. Also I got crashes when configuring kmail or filters. Just a moment ago konsole died with no reason, and I wasn't even doing anything with it. KCrash: Application 'konsole' crashing... This is very annoying. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (800, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (50, 'unstable'), (40, 'experimental') Architecture: sparc (sparc64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.14-2-sparc64 Locale: LANG=es_AR, LC_CTYPE=es_AR (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages kmail depends on: ii kdebase-kio-plugins 4:3.4.2-4 core I/O slaves for KDE ii kdelibs4c24:3.4.2-4 core libraries for all KDE applica ii kdepim-kio-plugins4:3.4.2-2 KDE pim I/O Slaves ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libaudio2 1.7-3 The Network Audio System (NAS). If I move the contact to the group called "top level" befere the user has given me authorisation kopete askes me for authorisation again. After I enter the authorisation message kopete crashes(!) and the crash dialog pops up. If I saved the contactlist befor kopete crashed I can move the contanct to the group "top level" after I have restarted kopete without any problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.7-1-k7 Locale: LANG=sv_SE, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE Versions of packages kopete depends on: ii kdelibs4 4:3.2.3-2 KDE core libraries ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-5 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-5client library to control the FAM ii libgadu3 1:1.4-3Gadu-Gadu protocol library - runti ii libgcc1 1:3.4.1-4 GCC support library ii libglib1.21.2.10-9 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk1.2 1.2.10-17 The GIMP Toolkit set of widgets fo ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-9 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libpcre3 4.5-1.1Perl 5 Compatible Regular Expressi ii libpng12-01.2.5.0-6 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt 3:3.3.2-0pre2 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm64.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Session Management ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7d-4 SSL shared libraries ii libstdc++51:3.3.4-3 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxi64.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Input extension li ii libxml2 2.6.10-3 GNOME XML library ii libxrender1 0.8.3-7X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxslt1.11.1.7-1XSLT processing library - runtime ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System client libraries m ii xmms 1.2.10-1 Versatile X audio player that look ii zlib1g1:1.2.1.1-5compression library - runtime -- no debconf information --- Received: (at 262039-done) by bugs.debian.org; 6 Dec 2005 13:51:18 + >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Dec 06 05:51:18 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from ipx11302.ipxserver.de ([212.112.227.254] helo=gauss.credativ.com) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 4.50) id 1EjdAZ-00021G-Hi for [E

Bug#342253: kicker-applets: System Monitor doesn't properly handle transparency
Package: kicker-applets Version: 4:3.4.3-1 Severity: normal [I wasn't able to properly figure out which binary the System Monitor belongs to, and I assume that it is ktimemon. If it is not, please reassign appropriately] In a transparent panel, the System Monitor sometimes loses transparency and shows up as a black square with the bars painted upon. This is replaced by the background pretty fast, but is an annoying point of activity on the screen. See attached .png screenshot.
