Bug#317098: Kmail segfaults at startup after minor upgrade of kdelibs4

2005-07-06 Thread Nicolas DEGAND
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.3.2-3
Severity: grave

Since today's update of kdelibs4 to 3.3.2-7, kmail segfaults at startup
without any additional info. No other software seems to suffer from the
problem (I do not have kontact installed but I have akregator and knode
and they still works).

Bug#317087: I think the problem is with kdelibs, not kdenetwork package

2005-07-06 Thread Frode Jemtland
Package: kdenetwork
Version: 4:3.3.2-6
Followup-For: Bug #317087

I also got the same problem as described. But when I tryed to downgrade
the kdenetwork package, by installing kdenetwork_3.3.2-5_all.deb and
kdenetwork-filesharing_3.3.2-5_i386.deb from the testing repository, I
still had problem starting kmail.

In the /var/log/dpkg.log file, I noticed that there weare 4 kdelibs
packages installed about the same time...
2005-07-06 00:08:55 status installed kdelibs-data 4:3.3.2-7
2005-07-06 00:09:13 status installed kdelibs-bin 4:3.3.2-7

2005-07-06 00:09:13 status installed kdelibs 4:3.3.2-7

After downgrading this packages to 3.3.2-6 from the testing repository,
kmail worked as it should.

Kmail still workes, after I have upgraded the kdenetwork packages to
3.3.2-6.

Bug#317098: kmail: Seg fault on startup: no effect by downgrading kdenetwork : gdb output included

2005-07-06 Thread Neil Williams
Package: kmail

I thought it was due to a kdenetwork upgrade that took place last night,
so I tried to downgrade kdenetwork to 4:3.3.2-5 (currently in testing)
with no effect. This is the output from running kmail under gdb:

Bug#317205: libjack0.80.0-0 removed from unstable; rebuild required

2005-07-06 Thread Robert Jordens
Package: kdemultimedia
Version: unknown
Severity: serious
Tags: sid
Justification: uninstallable in unstable (policy 5.3)

Hi!

A new release of jack-audio-connection-kit (0.100.0-2) has been uploaded
to Debian unstable. The old library libjack0.80.0-0 (and
libjack0.80.0-dev) have been removed and replaced with libjack0.100.0-0
and libjack0.100.0-dev since the API changed in some parts. For most
packages that means a simple rebuild.

Since libjack0.80.0 has been removed from unstable, this is a
release-critical issue.

A few notes about how to resolve this bug:

   1. Please Build-Depend only on libjack0.100.0-dev. Build-Depending
on libjack-dev as a virtual alternative allows the autobuilders to
build against the old libjack0.80.0 if they find it. (Versioned
   virtual dependencies probably don't work.)

   2. There are some packages (like for example xmms-jackasyn) which
"accidently" obtain a dependency on libjack0.80.0-0 but do not
Build-Depend on it. In my opinion this is incorrect. But if you want
to maintain that indirect dependency, you will have to coordinate
with the package's maintainer whose package you are build-depending
on (libjackasyn-dev in the case of xmms-jackasyn) and and only upload
your package (xmms-jackasyn; with a suitable _versioned_
build-dependency on the other package, libjackasy-dev) iff the other
package has already been uploaded (and built on as many architectures
as possible to lighten the pressure of failed builds).

   3. If this transition collides with the C++ transition for your
package (because it may be/contain a C++ library), then please follow
the timeline of the C++ transition instead of this one.

(Thanks to Adeodato Simó for these hints).

A list of the packages for each maintainer and a list of the affected
source packages has been attached.

Bug#317204: libjack0.80.0-0 removed from unstable; rebuild required

2005-07-06 Thread Robert Jordens
Package: kdelibs
Version: unknown
Severity: serious

(Versioned

Bug#317231: kde + cups ipv4 or cups ipv6 (or both)

Looking at /usr/include/cups/http.h sure enough there is no sin_addr, the
change looks to be related to cups support ipv4 and ipv6.

Going back to libcupsys2-dev 1.1.23-10 I see:

struct sockaddr_in hostaddr

So, either need to hack on kdeprint/cups/cupsdconf2/cups-util.c to support the
new cups ipv4/ipv6 code or put in a Build-Depends: libcupsys2-dev (<< 1.1.99)
(or something like that).

$ apt-cache policy libcupsys2-dev

My guess is you want to build against the experimental package and not the
