package conflict libkdenetwork2 and libkleopatra0a in 3.4.0

2005-05-07 Thread Andreas Menzel
Hello,
when I was installing debian packages for KDE 3.4, the packages
libkdenetwork2_4%3a3.3.2-3_i386.deb and
libkleopatra0a_4%3a3.4.0-0pre1_i386.deb produced a conflict.
My apt-get told me that the installation routine of libkdenetwork2 was
trying to overwrite the file
/usr/share/apps/kconf_update/kpgp-3.1-upgrade-address-data.pl which is
also part of libkleopatra0a and quitted with some sort of broken pipe
message which I unfortunately did not write down and I don't know where
and if a apt-get logfile exists.
I hope this error report is of any value for you.
I'd like to learn to fix that kind of stuff myself and send you patches
- where can I find good howtos on this stuff?

Sincerely,
Andreas Menzel

Bug#308017: korganizer: Dragging event across midnight halts, modifies duration

2005-05-07 Thread Alex Nordstrom
Package: korganizer
Version: 4:3.3.2-3
Severity: normal

When dragging an event to move it, the event stops moving when it spans
across midnight, until one releases the mouse button and resumes moving
it. Also, as the event stops moving, its duration increases.

The portion of the event that can be moved across midnight as well as
the amount by which the event's length increases appears to be linked to
the velocity with which one moves the mouse when dragging.

To reproduce, in Week view or Day view, for example, create an event
beginning at 21:00 and ending at 23:00 on some day. Move the event by
clicking and holding the starting time of the event and drag it
downwards.

Dragged slowly, the event will stop moving with its starting
time set at 22:15 and its finishing time at 00:30. Even after dragged
back to before midnight, the event's duration remains increased by 15
minutes.

Dragged more rapidly, the event may end up spanning from 23:00 to
02:00--an increase in duration of an hour.

Description: KDE alarm message and command scheduler
- KAlarm is a personal alarm message, command and email scheduler. It lets you
- set up personal alarm messages which pop up on the screen at the chosen
- time, or you can schedule commands to be executed or emails to be sent.
+ KAlarm provides a graphical interface to schedule personal timed events -
+ pop-up alarm messages, command execution and sending emails. There is a
+ range of options for configuring recurring events.
  .
+ A pop-up alarm can show either a simple text message, or the contents of a
+ text or image file, It can optionally play a sound file. You can choose its
+ appearance, and set reminders. Among KAlarm's other facilities, you can set
+ up templates to allow KAlarm to be used as a 'tea timer'.
+ .
+ As an alternative to using the graphical interface, alarms can be scheduled
+ from the command line or via DCOP calls from other programs. KAlarm is
+ KDE-based, but will also run on other desktops.
+ .
This package is part of the official KDE pim module.

Bug#308110: Launching on 'about:blank' loads no page; denies functionality.

2005-05-07 Thread Adrian Irving-Beer
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.3.2-1
Severity: normal

Within Konqueror, accessing the URL 'about:blank' (like with most
browsers) accesses a blank page. White background, 'page loaded'
status message, URL in the location bar. All is good.

Launching konqueror as 'konqueror about:blank' does not actually load
about:blank, but rather, doesn't load any page at all. Gray background,
no messages, no URL.

This would be perfectly fine if having 'no page' didn't prevent many
useful options. For example, I cannot middle-click on the page body
to drop in a URL from the X selection. I cannot do 'new tab' at all
(silently ignores it). Many menu options are grayed out, including
those that seemingly have nothing to do with having a page or not,
like 'hide menubar'.

Note that actually typing 'about:blank' into the location bar
(directly after launch) will take you from a gray screen to a white,
fully-functional page.

This bug could be interpreted one of two ways -- either launching on
'about:blank' should be the equivalent of typing that URL into the
location bar, or Konqueror should not deny so much functionality to a
no-page situation.

If the chosen solution is to provide the real 'about:blank' page, I
recommend it be done *without* putting anything in the location bar
(as per current behaviour). This allows typing a URL in directly,
rather than having to delete 'about:blank'. (This is the sole benefit
of the current situation.)
