Bug#307261: kmail: IMAP email is lost when using spam filter

2005-05-02 Thread Steve Freitas
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.3.2-3
Severity: critical
Justification: causes serious data loss

On my IMAP server, I created a subfolder under INBOX titled "Spam". I
then started the anti-spam wizard, in which I told it to utilize the
spamassassin installation it found on my system. I told it "Classify
messages using the anti-spam tools", and "Move detected spam messages to
the selected folder." I selected the newly created "Spam" folder on my
IMAP server. I then selected a day's worth of email and did Apply
Filters, which caused it all to disappear. It was purged from the IMAP
server, and as far as I can tell, it's just gone. I've checked all local
and IMAP folders with no luck.

I've done no configuration of my system's spamassassin installation.

Sorry about that -- a couple of my filters were having an unexpected

After talking a bit with Christopher Martin, we see no inconvenient in
you placing your Qt4 packages under the "Debian Qt/KDE Maintainers"
umbrella. Only note that we're not precisely overwhelmed with manpower
at the moment, which will probably mean that you won't automagically
get lots of helping hands. But having the packages in open maintenance
mode is definitely a good thing.

Also, as you probably know, the qt-kde list is already high traffic,
but there are mechanisms to sort out the traffic regarding Qt packages
(subscribing to the PTS separately, procmailing by the
X-Debian-PR-Package header, using a MUA filter, etc.).

> I plan to maintain the packaging in a distributed version control
> system, once I figure out which of the 20 or so is the most practical.

OK. If you finally choose Subversion, you may want to use the existing
repository for the Alioth pkg-kde project. But please feel free to use
  whichever you prefer.

We will be glad to cooperate more closely. Thanks & good luck,

P.S.: Will you change the name of the source package to qt4-x11?

Bug#307353: kdm keeping users from starting kde

2005-05-02 Thread jreed
package: kdm
version: 3.3.2-1

this issue is quite puzzling. we've updated a few of our user's debian
boxes, and kdm is a common package that gets upgraded. now, kdm greets
our users normally, but when they login, they are briefly taken to a
generic gray xserver screen, and then almost immediately returned to
kdm. this issue only appears to affect kdm. we've been able to get users
back into kde using gdm/xdm with no problems. keep in mind, these users
mount their home directories from our nfs server, and i'm wondering if
this new kdm doesn't like nfs/nis/autofs. also strange, i've been able
to start fluxbox using kdm with no problems.

Bug#307343: kaudiocreator: Default is always selected in CDDB multiple match

2005-05-02 Thread Hugo Haas
Package: kaudiocreator
Version: 4:3.3.2-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

KDE Bug #93875 is present in the Debian packages:

[[
If KAudiocreator finds several matches for CD in freedb, it shows the
dialog to select one. However it always uses the default selection
even if I select another one.
]] -- http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93875

This is very annoying as it means that if the default CDDB entry is
incorrect, one has to correct everything by hand, while another entry
might have had the right information.

Would it be possible to apply this fix:

http://webcvs.kde.org/kdemultimedia/kaudiocreator/tracksimp.cpp?r1=1.43&r2=1.44

the patch being:

http://webcvs.kde.org/kdemultimedia/kaudiocreator/tracksimp.cpp?r1=1.43&r2=1.44&makepatch=1&diff_format=u

Cheers,

Hugo

Bug#307431: kmail: Folder selection by typing name in "move message to folder" broken

2005-05-02 Thread Robert King
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.3.2-3
Severity: normal

I've just upgraded my kdelibs following a debian security announcement,
and the the folder selection by typing its name in the move message to
folder dialogue box has stopped working in kmail.

In the dialogue box now the only keys that have any effect are the arrow
keys and the letter that is the same as the initial letter of the folder
with current focus, which moves to the next folder with that letter, or
if focus is at the last folder with that letter, the next letter will
move the focus on to the first folder with that letter.

What version of KDM where you upgrading from? What type of session did
the users select. And, any relevant log entries on /var/log/kdm.log,
  or ~/.xsession-errors?

  Thanks,
