Re: KDE_3_4_BRANCH: kdesdk/debian
> Why not use and enhance doc/scripts/man-cvscheck.1.docbook ? Because: - I only (very) recently became aware that those manpages had been converted to docbook; - Those docbook manpages weren't built and installed, at least for KDE 3.4; - Most importantly, those docbook files are fairly out of date since they were (unfortunately) based on some very out of date manpages in HEAD (mainly because most of my debian commits tend to happen on branches). So it was a choice of (i) update the manpages that I have actively maintained in kdesdk/debian, or (ii) embark on a massive forward-porting and *roff-to-docbook conversion project that right now I really, really don't have time for. In the end the winner was (i). (As an aside, I have recently resynced all of my kde*/debian directories in HEAD with the current 3.4 packaging, which means the manpages in kdesdk/debian are now current.) Bug#302161: Request for syncekonnector
Package: kitchensync Version: 4:3.3.2-2 Severity: wishlist Hi :) It would be very useful to have this Konnector included in Debian's KDE 3.4.0 release since it permits Address/Calendar/Tasks/Contacts syncronisation with Pocket PC (Windows Mobile) devices. https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kdepim-users/2005-March/003934.html The build is a straightforward ./configure and make - just with a lot of dependencies! :) It seems a shame to have already all the Raki / RAPIP / SynCE / multisynk framework in place for KDE 3.4.0 and miss this. I'm aware that this may already be planned, but it'd be nice to know that when KDE 3.4 hits unstable this konnector will be present. Cheers, Gavin. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#302165: kmail: Hangs infinitely when loading IMAP mail content
Package: kmail Version: 4:3.4.0-0pre1 Severity: important Tags: experimental I tried to access my mailbox via IMAP with my config which worked so far (until I upgraded to experimental). Now I successfully get the messages list, but the content of a mail is not displayed and kmail doesn't respond to any actions. A 'ps axw' gives some processes which don't show up before kontact/kmail is started. They exist for a long time, and the 'kio_imap4' doesn't vanish at all without invoking a 'kill -9' Here's the list of related processes: snip --- 8470 ?S 0:00 kio_imap4 [kdeinit] imap /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/klaunchereVxwXa.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/konta 8471 ?S 0:00 kwalletmanager --kwalletd 8475 ?S 0:00 kio_file [kdeinit] file /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/klaunchereVxwXa.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/kontac 8476 ?S 0:00 kio_file [kdeinit] file /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/klaunchereVxwXa.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/kontac 8477 ?S 0:00 kio_file [kdeinit] file /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/klaunchereVxwXa.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/kontac 8478 ?S 0:00 kio_file [kdeinit] file /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/klaunchereVxwXa.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/kontac 8479 ?S 0:00 kio_imap4 [kdeinit] imap /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/klaunchereVxwXa.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/konta 8483 ?S 0:00 kio_imap4 [kdeinit] imaps /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/klaunchereVxwXa.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-frschorer/kont - snip - After a while only the first kio_file process and the first kio_imap4 process exist, the others die without any action. They have to be killed with 'kill -9'. This results in a message box telling me that the process for imap://some.host.example has been terminated unexpectedly. The IMAP server is contacted via TLS with PLAIN auth (tested via conf window and worked so far). Pls let me know if you need more info which I could provide. I'll be happy helping to track this down. Status of KDE 3.4
Greetings, What is the status of KDE 3.4 for debian packages? Are there blocking issues that we can help with? I know the Ubuntu guys have 3.4 packages complete, so I was just wondering if there where issues on non-pcc/ia-* platforms that where causing problems. Let me know if you guys need any help? Bug#302236: konqueror: crash on the "back" button click when it is auto-opening a pdf
Package: konqueror Version: 4:3.3.2-1 Severity: normal In the process of my work I download a large number of articles from scientific journal sites. Konqueror reliably crashes if I click on the "back" button while it is auto-loading a pdf file linked from the article download page. However, the crash happens after a certain time of konqueror usage and with several tabs open, which I cannot replicate. I just know it will crash, but can't predict how soon. This will make debugging difficult unless I build kdebase with debugging symbols, which is not going to be easy I guess. So, this bug caused work loss for me a number of times, but I'll set the severity to normal due to the difficulty of replication. The pdf is usually loaded with JavaScript like this: function loadPDF() { setPDFLoadedFlag(); // Scan through all links on page looking for the one that // matches the PDF download. Why do we do this arcane trick // instead of just duplicating the URL? Because of a // situation where the page is being proxied and passed through // a link rewriter, which can't handle JavaScript. This // bit of code, by determining the autoload URL at runtime, // picks up the rewritten URL and uses that. // (mferber 11/19/03) for (i = 0; i < document.links.length; i++) { link = document.links[i]; path = link.pathname; if ((path.length >= id.length + 4 && path.substring(path.length - id.length - 4) == id + ".pdf") || (path.length >= mjid.length + 4 && path.substring(path.length - mjid.length - 4) == mjid + ".pdf")) { // found match window.location = link.href; break; } } } -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11-20050303-mrb319 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO8859-15 (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages konqueror depends on: ii kcontrol 4:3.3.2-1 KDE Control Center ii kdebase-kio-plugins 4:3.3.2-1 KDE I/O Slaves ii kdelibs4 4:3.3.2-4.0.2 KDE core libraries ii kdesktop 4:3.3.2-1 KDE Desktop ii kfind4:3.3.2-1 KDE File Find Utility ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc62.3.2.ds1-20GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-6 client library to control the FAM ii libgcc1 1:3.4.3-12 GCC support library ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libidn11 0.5.13-1.0 GNU libidn library, implementation ii libjpeg626b-10 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkonq4 4:3.3.2-1 Core libraries for KDE's file mana ii libpcre3 5.0-1 Perl 5 Compatible Regular Expressi ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-1 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt3:3.3.3-8 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.5-12 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxrender1 0.8.3-7 X Rendering Extension client libra ii xlibs4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#302240: kaddressbook: strange handling of vcard-directory as address-ressource
Package: kaddressbook Version: 4:3.4.0-0pre1 Severity: important Exactly the same bug applies to KAdressbook found in kde 3.3. Ok, here's the situation: I have a directory filled with some vcards. I want KAdressbook (KAB) to handle this directory like a real adressbook, so i import it via: add adressbook -> directory -> "read-only unchecked!" and format: vcard. The import works well, all contacts are correctly shown. Now I edit a contact but instead of changing the actual file of this specific contact, KAB creates a new one (in this directory) so my contact appears twice! I think, this is not the behaviour most users expect. Right now I'm using KDE 3.4 from alioth, but this bug also applies to the kde-3.3 version of KAB which is currently in sid. Bug#300614: kmail: deletes emails when manually applying a filter for all messages in inbox manually
severity 300614 important retitle 300614 kmail crashes when filter applied manually on multiple mails stop Hello, This bug is known by upstream, and they think it likely that it is fixed in KDE 3.4. However, they don't know exactly when or where the fix was committed, making backporting extremely difficult. However, it is important to note that this is the first and only report of this problem that mentions data loss, and it seems likely that the data loss was related to the power-cycling of the box. The bug itself is merely a kmail lockup, and does not, insofar as the many other reporters of this problem have mentioned, cause data loss. Hence we are lowering the severity to important. Of course, we (the Debian KDE team) will continue to watch this issue and if a solution becomes available, will ensure that it reaches Sarge.
