I just checked and this bug was reported upstream a few months ago, and it
sounds like a fix might be possible.

GNOME 2.2 and KDE 3.1 seem to be fighting in some way.

It should be possible to dist-upgrade GNOME and KDE without the user
having to "manually specify a solution".

Marked as important because IMO we can't release sarge if people can't
dist-upgrade to sarge from woody.

It's possible the problem is a bad Conflicts/Replaces/Provides in one of
the packages recompiled for the C++ ABI transition. Maybe libfam0?

Bug#281705: kmail: Similar Problem...

2005-01-27 Thread Benoit Panizzon
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.3.1-3
Followup-For: Bug #281705

Hi

I have the same problem about messages being shown empty but it doesn't desturb
me too much as
I'm still able to see there is a message. After opening them I can read the
text.

But there seams to be a far more nasty bug...

I have here two clients connecting to the same imap account. (Desktop @ work
and Notebook @
home).
Today I realized that I had seen some emails at home that I wasn't able to find
on my desktop @
work.

So I logged in to the imap server and did a grep trough the mbox files. The
emails are there.

Trying to delete the local kmail cache, or restarting kmail etc. did not help.

Is there a way to force kmail to reread whole imap folders?

I remember previous versions sometimes showed a message about broken index
files, re read the
folders and everything was fine again.

This new version just seams to ignore broken indexes and does not show some
messages.

I connect to the ICQ network successfully and people can see me online

The last thing I did was add a new contact to MSN before this started.
Looks similar to this perhaps?

Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.3.1-1
Severity: important

Hi,

after the upgrade to kdepim 3.3.1, and after some use, when I want to
display a message in an imap folder it is not displayed anymore. I have
to click on another message and return back to the message in order to
see it.

It appears on new, old and read messages. I have to restart kmail
(kontact) in order to have few minutes of normal use.

I think it is a kio_newimap4 problem because it only occurs for imap
folder. And I reproduced the problem on several imap server (dovecot,
cyrus and courier-imap).

Bug#292566: cannot get rid of kgpg?!?

2005-01-27 Thread Eike Sauer
Package: kgpg
Version: 4:3.3.1-1
Severity: normal

I chose not to use kgpg, but I can't stop it from starting at every
login.
I tried to disable "start kgpg at every login", loged out,
loged in again -> kgpg is there again.
Then I tried do disable "start kgpg at every login", stopped kgpg
explicitly, logged out, logged in again -> kgpg is still there

Am I doing something wrong...?

Bug#292597: noatun crashes remote artsd

Package: arts
Version: 1.3.2-2

Running noatun on a client system with ARTS_SERVER=remoteserver:41533

cause the artsd crash. The remote server's sound system is configured
with custom options "-p 41533 -u". Here's a backtrace:
