Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.0-2
Severity: grave
Tags: sid
Justification: renders package unusable

Since I upgraded OOo from 1.0.3, it gave me "An uncoverable error has
occurred" most of time, when I tried to open it (no specific
application).
With the upgrade at -2 revision, I cannot use it at all. I tried to
erase all conf files, to create a new user and start by him, but no way.
I sent a report to Sun, but I think it's a Debian issue.
I use Enlightenment as WM, and I have only it installed: OpenOffice.org
complaints that it cannot create a lot of files: errors are like

An error occurred while copying the file share/icons/locolor/32x32/apps/
ooo_impress.xpm to /home/lestat/.kde
an error occurred while copying a file
ExitCode: 0

The stack dump top is always on libsal.so.3 (if it can help, I can send
the stack), and OOo exits with a Signal 6 (or, rarely with a Signal 11).

Wrong Icons in *.desktop files

2003-12-06 Thread Marcel Meckel
Hello,

in openoffice.org1.1 beta packages the *.desktop files found in
/usr/share/applnk/OpenOffice.org1.1/ have Icons= lines like this:

   Icon=ooo_calc.xpm

Since the right Line should be

   Icon=/usr/lib/openoffice1.1/share/icons/ooo_calc.png

(notice .png instead of .xpm) no icons are visible. In
http://lists.debian.org/debian-openoffice/2003/debian-openoffice-200310/msg00014.html
i found the sed command

   -e 's,Icon=.*/\([^/]*\.png\),Icon=/usr/lib/openoffice$(VER)/share/icons/\1,'

which probably doesn't fit because of xpm icons.

Please cc me on replies because i'm not on the list.

Thanks,
Marcel.

Version: 1.0.99+1.1rc3-1
Severity: important
Justification: reduces functionality w/o rendering it completly unusable

It's very strange but when I start oowriter (or anay other oo.o program)
from Gnome menu - then after it loads I get message box that
"unrecoverable error has occured" and all data will be written, blabla..

But when I start oowriter from multi-gnome-terminal - then it loads
and everything is fine. It's a bit annoying...

About justification - if somebody is being hit by this problem - he
may not use oo.o unless he knows that he should start it from shell,
so for some it'll work, for some - not.

Grzegorz B. Prokopski

A lot of languages lack options in "database type" combobox in "database
administration" dialog box. When selecting one of the available options, the
dialog acts wierdly (like if we had select another option).

The cause is that all the available options (in fact the translation of
their names) are in a translatable string which haven't been updated for a lot
of languages in 1.0 -> 1.1 transition.

I attach a patch which tries to correct this, although I haven't
compiled it to test it myself.
