Package: elfutils
Version: 0.176-1.1

Expectation: elfutils could be built with MAKEFLAGS=-w,
printing directory information

Actual: elfutils could not be built, target w is not found.

Steps to reproduce:

export MAKEFLAGS=-w
dpkg-buildpackages -us -uc -rfakeroot

Analysis:
* make translates MAKEFLAGS, changes its first single letter option,
  remove dash from the flags.
* if first word in MAKEFLAGS is single letter, make will translate it
  back to single letter options.
* If we pass MAKEFLAGS explicitly to $(MAKE), it won't translate like

Proposed fix:

sed -e '/[$](MAKE).*[$](MAKEFLAGS)/ s/[$](MAKEFLAGS)//' \
-e '/^DPKG_EXPORT_BUILDFLAGS/a export MAKEFLAGS' \
debian/rules

elfutils fails to cross build from source. It has two build passes, a
native one and a cross one. The native one misses dependencies for
libdebuginfod. As it turns out, we don't actually need a full
libdebuginfod nor a debuginfod in that native pass at all. elfutils
consinders this a bootstrap build and supports it via
--enable-libdebuginfod=dummy. That's what the attached patch passes.
Please consider applying it.

The pkg.elfutils.nodebuginfod build profile broke with the introduction
of libdebuginfod. I suggest also covering the library with the profile.
Please consider applying the attached patch to that end.

Bug#978761: gcc-11: Please temporarily disable Ada on m68k

2020-12-31 Thread John Paul Adrian Glaubitz
Source: gcc-11
Version: 10.2.1-3
Severity: normal
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: m68k

Hi!

The Ada bootstrap is currently broken on m68k which causes gcc-11 to FTBFS:

I have reported the issue upstream [1] and also bisected the commit that
introduced
the problem.

Could you disable Ada in gcc-11 on m68k until the issue has been fixed upstream?

Thanks,
Adrian

Bug#978947: gcc-defaults: please upload gcc-defaults/experimental (for gcc-11)

2020-12-31 Thread Adam Borowski
Source: gcc-defaults
Version: 4:10.2.0-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi!
The gcc-11 package is available (mighty thanks!) but there's no
gcc/experimental counterpart for it.

Software with sane build systems can be tested using "CC=gcc-11 CXX=g++-11
CPP=cpp-11" but sanity is not as widespread as one would hope.

Also, such packages make testing that involves sbuild much easier.

Thus: please upload gcc-11 defaults to experimental.
