Bug#727621: armel: std::future appears to be broken?

2013-10-24 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Package: g++-4.8
Version: 4.8.1-10
Severity: normal

Hello, thank you for maintaining GCC.

When I tried to compile cupt 2.6.x in unstable/experimental, an armel
build (out of all) failed. This unfortunately blocks cupt's migration to
testing.

unstable, used g++ 4.8 - [1]
unstable, used g++ 4.6 - [2]
experimental, used g++ 4.6 - [3]

Errors were a bit different between 4.6 and 4.8, but both didn't like
something about std::future. Builds on other architectures, including
armhf, went fine.

Please fix cupt to show the complete command-line. The build-logs are
near to useless.

Bug#727621: armel: std::future appears to be broken?

2013-10-24 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Hi,

In general, I tend to disagree, for noise-to-signal and readability
ratio.

Now if this particular report is near to useless given the information I
provided, I would be happy to to dig and attach all what is needed. I
apparently assumed wrong that reproducability would be enough.

Would it be enough if I provide the complete compiler command line and
preprocessed source for the failing case?

Log from buildds are usually only inspected in the case of errors or by
other automatic means, so there is no noise. As the errors sometimes
are not really reproducible, it needs to provide all information needed
to solve the problem.

Some questions I would ask:
- Does it use the same flags for all architectures?
- What flags exactly?

Well. Did you already try to reproduce it on the developer machine?
