Bug#473426: g++-4.3: regression with memory consuption ?

2008-03-30 Thread Christian Marillat
Package: g++-4.3
Version: 4.3.0-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

g++ 4.3 is unable to compile the libs/libmythtv/dbcheck.cpp source in mythtv
package on powerpc and sparc (a bug report is needed for this arch ?).

Of course I don't see this problem with g++ 4.2.

The problem :

g++ eat all the memory and then swap forever. I've killed the process after
4 hours of 'work'.

You can get the tarball and the debian diff here :

http://www.debian-multimedia.org/pool/main/m/mythtv/mythtv_0.21-0.9.diff.gz

This is a mis-assumption in those tests. For said architectures (or more
precisely, their ABIs), long double is an alias for double. The tests
need to be adjusted / disabled accordingly.

Probably you are the uploader of the following file(s) in
the Debian upload queue directory:
  gcc-defaults_1.68.dsc

This looks like an upload, but a .changes file is missing, so the job
cannot be processed.

If no .changes file arrives within 23:28:00, the files will be deleted.

The amd64 gobjc-4.3-multilib package currently depends on lib64objc2,
which exists only on 32-bit architectures; could you please correct

[Bug classpath/30436] import java.util.Scanner cannot be resolved

2008-03-30 Thread gnu_andrew at member dot fsf dot org

--- Comment #13 from gnu_andrew at member dot fsf dot org 2008-03-30 21:20
---
Mark, I take it Laszlo completed the assignment then? I don't recall seeing a
mail, but may have missed it.

Laszlo, you need to first post the patch to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the
subject 'RFC: java.util.Scanner' and wait for feedback before committing. As
Mark says, please read the guides for GNU Classpath work.

If there are problems committing, this can be tracked down or another developer
can always commit the work for you assuming assignment is in place.

Bug#465580: gcc-4.2: FTBFS: ../../src/gcc/config/i386/crtfastmath.c:96: error: size of array 'st_space' is too large

2008-03-30 Thread Sten Heinze
I found this bug when I tried to upgrade to lenny, so I tried to reproduce it
on the single core to exclude multi-core effects if there are any.

> > still not able to reproduce, how is make called (-j ?)
>
> debian/rules is not called with -j, but parallel=8 is set in
> DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS.

I used pbuilder (from testing, because of #419807) and clean sid environments
as of today (pbuilder create) to build the package. It worked both with

pbuilder build gcc-4.2_4.2.3-2.dsc

and with additional DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="parallel=2". It also worked using an
lenny environment (tried 2 days ago w/o DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS).

So the reason for the FTBFS might be somewhere else?

Sten Heinze
