gdbm and libc6

1997-05-30 Thread doussot

Hi developpers,

I'm planning to package htdig, a www search engine
(http://htdig.sdsu.edu/). I have two questions :

- is someone already working on this package ?

- what is the status of lib gdbm and libc6 ? . Htdig uses gdbm but
libc6 provides db and sometime ago I'seen a post of Ulrich Drepper (glibc
maintener), he said that he was unable to find a maintainer for ligdbm. So
is gdbm offcialy dropped for hamm ? should I port htdig to use db instead
?

Thanks for any info.

ncurses & libc6

1997-05-27 Thread Yann Doussot

I was thinking about building ncurses 4.1 with libc6 when I saw
this file :

README.glibc

To compile this as an add-on for glibc, unpack it in the glibc source
tree and put ncurses on the add-on list when you do configure.

So it seems possible to compile libc6 and ncurses as a whole.
As libncurses is outdated and needs to be recompiled for libc6 why not use
this possibility ?

David what do you think about this ?

Note : please CC mails about this to me, I'm not subscribed to the list.
