/lib/modules//volatile on tmpfs
I have this directory on an Ubuntu system and it seems to be present on recent Debian systems too... It is on tmpfs. Can anybody tell me what is its purpose (as many other distros don't have it) and when it gets mounted? Thanks! As far as I know, it should exist in Debian too. For instance, if you look at http://www.phor.net/phpsysinfo-dev/, you'll find an updated log of the system information of an host with Debian/testing. And it has this dir. Same if you look at http://s1cness.is-a-geek.com/phpsysinfo/ It is mentioned even in Debian mailing lists: http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2006/01/msg00088.html yet no one on the Ubuntu forum nor anywhere seems to have a clue about it... Sorry about my post, then! And thank you: at least now I have a definitive point about something - it's an Ubuntu thing and I need to look there! Sergio -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: Re: /lib/modules//volatile on tmpfs
The weird thing is that it contains kernel modules, though! (and relative to that particular version of the kernel) Sergio -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
