Bug#740130: ITP: libtime-hr-perl -- Perl interface to high-resolution timer
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Peter Roberts * Package name: libtime-hr-perl Version : 0.02 Upstream Author : Alexander Golomshtok * URL : http://metacpan.org/release/Time-HR/ * License : unknown Programming Lang: Perl, C Description : Perl interface to high-resolution timer Time::HR is a very simple interface to high-resolution timer - it only supports one function call - gethrtime(). gethrtime() function returns current high-resolution real time value either as 64-bit integer (on systems with 64-bit support) or double value. Time is expressed as nanoseconds since some arbitrary time in the past; it is not correlated in any way to the time of day, and thus is not subject to resetting or drifting by way of adjtime or settimeofday. The high resolution timer is ideally suited to performance measurement tasks, where cheap, accurate interval timing is required. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#740946: ITP: libsub-recursive-perl -- anonymous memory leak free recursive subroutines
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Peter Roberts * Package name: libsub-recursive-perl Version : 0.03 Upstream Author : Johan Lodin * URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Sub-Recursive * License : GPL Programming Lang: Perl Description : anonymous memory leak free recursive subroutines Recursive Perl closures suffer from a severe memory leak. Sub::Recursive makes the problem go away cleanly and at the same time allows you to write recursive subroutines as expression and can make them truly anonymous. There's no significant speed difference between using &recursive and writing the simpler leaking solution. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". One crucial difference from threads.pm is that the threads are disconnected, except by message queues.
