Ubuntu for packaging for Debian
I'd recently adquire a little laptop (p3 900, 256 MB RAM). I'm been thinking to install Ubuntu in it cause Ubuntu is optimized for desktop, but I'd like to package some stuff for Debian. Is it advisable to use a pure Debian instead ? Regards, mike -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Info and statistics about the project
Don't know whether the appropiate list for this post should be debian-users or this. March 25, a Congress of Free Software will take place at UCI, here in Cuba. I'd been preparing myself to give a talk about the Debian Project. Have found tons of info disgregated across the net. But, particularily, I'm looking for some place where I can grab objetive statistics about the project. If you know about such a site, please let me know. Thanks in advance and forgive me If I should begin asking for this in debian-users. Regards, maykel -- ,''`. Gaim & TLS
I'd not been able to use Google talk with Gaim and telnetting talk.google.com:5222 works. I'm supposing it has something to do with TLS, In Gtalk developer's page says it's a must. I took a look over gaim source package and, at first glance, it includes support for NLS (./configure include it by default), but, when I ldd'ed /usr/bin/gaim, there isn't reference to any tls library. Did I miss something ? Regards, maykel -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
