Bug#712854: ITP: libcpan-reporter-perl -- Adds CPAN Testers reporting to CPAN.pm
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Marius Gavrilescu * Package name: libcpan-reporter-perl Version : 1.2010 Upstream Author : David Golden * URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/CPAN-Reporter/ * License : Apache-2.0 Programming Lang: Perl Description : Adds CPAN Testers reporting to CPAN.pm The CPAN Testers project captures and analyzes detailed results from building and testing CPAN distributions on multiple operating systems and multiple versions of Perl. This provides valuable feedback to module authors and potential users to identify bugs or platform compatibility issues and improves the overall quality and value of CPAN. . One way individuals can contribute is to send a report for each module that they test or install. CPAN::Reporter is an add-on for the CPAN.pm module to send the results of building and testing modules to the CPAN Testers project. Full support for CPAN::Reporter is available in CPAN.pm as of version 1.92. -- Marius Gavrilescu (etc) To get something done, a committee should consist of no more than three persons, two of them absent signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#713910: ITP: libcpan-reporter-smoker-perl -- turnkey CPAN Testers smoking module
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Marius Gavrilescu * Package name: libcpan-reporter-smoker-perl Version : 0.24 Upstream Author : David Golden * URL : https://metacpan.org/release/CPAN-Reporter-Smoker * License : Apache-2.0 Programming Lang: Perl Description : turnkey CPAN Testers smoking module Rudimentary smoke tester for CPAN Testers, built upon CPAN::Reporter. Use at your own risk. It requires a recent version of CPAN::Reporter to run. Currently, CPAN::Reporter::Smoker requires zero independent configuration; instead it uses configuration settings from CPAN.pm and CPAN::Reporter. Once started, it retrieves a list of distributions from the configured CPAN mirror and begins testing them in reverse order of upload. It will skip any distribution which has already had a report sent by CPAN::Reporter. Features: * No configuration needed * Tests each distribution as a separate CPAN process -- each distribution has prerequisites like build_requires satisfied from scratch * Automatically checks for new distributions every twelve hours or as otherwise specified * Continues until interrupted with CTRL-C * Checks CPAN.pm "distroprefs" to see if distributions should be skipped (before handing off to CPAN) -- Marius Gavrilescu (men-women) A man who likes to lie in bed can usually find a girl willing to listen to him signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Even if they wre real, they would be "real-life" MS Windows viruses in emails in a debian package. For someone to get "infected" they would have to run MS Windows, download a debian package, unpack it, open a file named "virusN" in an email viewer and run the attached file. However, as far as I know they're not actual viruses, they're just made to look like them (i.e. they contain the signatures, but not the harmful code). Therefore they're harmless. -- Marius Gavrilescu (science-kids) In some rocks you can find the fossil footprints of fishes. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

From the xz manpage: # Preset DictSize CompCPU CompMem DecMem # -0 256 KiB 03 MiB1 MiB # -1 1 MiB 19 MiB2 MiB # -2 2 MiB 2 17 MiB3 MiB # -3 4 MiB 3 32 MiB5 MiB # -4 4 MiB 4 48 MiB5 MiB # -5 8 MiB 5 94 MiB9 MiB # -6 8 MiB 6 94 MiB9 MiB # -7 16 MiB 6 186 MiB 17 MiB # -8 32 MiB 6 370 MiB 33 MiB # -9 64 MiB 6 674 MiB 65 MiB At the default preset (-6), the required RAM for decompressing is about 9MB. The BeagleBone seems to have 256MB of memory (that's what Wikipedia says), so 9MB shouldn't be an issue. And if 9MB is too much for some random board, xz -0 still compresses better than gzip -9 (or so it should) with only 1MB of DecMem. -- Marius Gavrilescu pgpWPbktNjNTF.pgp Description: PGP signature
