Bug#347267: ITP: iec16022 -- GPL licensed program to generate datamatrix/semacode 2d barcodes

2006-01-09 Thread Jan Luebbe
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jan Luebbe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: iec16022
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : Stefan Schmidt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.datenfreihafen.org/projects/iec16022.html
* License : GPL
  Description : iec16022 is a program to generate datamatrix/semacode 2d
barcodes

The program generates a 2d datamatrix/semacode barcode from a
parameter or from a file and produces output in various formats (png,
eps, ascii-art).

http://www.semapedia.org/ for example uses semacode tags to create
real-world "links" to wikipedia articles.

The code was originally written by Andrews & Arnold Ltd and placed under
the GPL (see http://aa.gg/free/). The statement on the website is somewhat
ambigous, but Stefan Schmit contacted the original author and obtained
explicit authorization to continue development under the GPL. He has
since taken over the development.

  Description : Abstract scrolling shooter

You are staying up late one night programming, when you suddenly feel
your mind getting overloaded from all that caffeine and syntax. You
decide to kick it back for 10 minutes and play a game...

Catch the cubes left behind when killing enemys in the correct order
before the time runs out. The order is dictated by the meter in the left
corner of the screen. Watch your life meter and see how far you can get.

Bug#325415: ITP: pida -- Python Integrated Development Application, a Python IDE.

Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jan Luebbe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: pida
  Version : 0.2.2
  Upstream Author : Ali Afshar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://pida.berlios.de/
* License : MIT
  Description : Python Integrated Development Application, a Python IDE.

PIDA is the Python Integrated Development Application.
It is an IDE (integrated development environment) written
in Python (http://www.python.org/) and the GTK
(http://www.pygtk.org/) graphical toolkit.

Pida is an IDE, but one that is slightly different from
other IDEs. Rather than attempting to write a set of
development tools of its own, Pida uses tools that the
developer has available. In this regards Pida can be used as
a framework for putting together your own bespoke IDE.

Although still a young application, Pida can already boast
a huge number of features because of the power of some of
the tools it integrates. For example features such as code completion
and syntax highlighting are well implemented in Pida's integrated
editors far better than any editor built for a commercial IDE.
Pida currently features:
Full code editing (syntax highlighting, code completion, automatic
indenting, block commenting etc) Project management, version control management,
Python debugger and profiler, GTK graphical user interface building and
rapid application design, Pastebin integration.

Bug#468269: ITP: embryo -- SMALL-based abstract machine (AMX) bytecode interpreter

2008-02-27 Thread Jan Luebbe

Owner: Jan Luebbe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: embryo
  Version : 0.9.1.042

* URL : http://www.enlightenment.org
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : SMALL-based abstract machine (AMX) bytecode interpreter

Embryo is primarily a shared library that gives you an API to load
and control interpreted programs compiled into an abstract machine
bytecode that it understands. This abstract (or virtual) machine is
similar to a real machine with a CPU, but it is emulated in
software. The architecture is simple and is the same as the
abstract machine (AMX) in the SMALL language as it is based on
exactly the same code. Embryo has modified the code for the AMX
extensively and has made it smaller and more portable. It is VERY
small. The total size of the virtual machine code AND header files
is less than 2500 lines of code. It includes the floating point
library support by default as well. This makes it one of the
smallest interpreters around, and thus makes is very efficient to
use in code.

See also http://www.compuphase.com/small.htm for details on SMALL.

It is used in the Enlightenment DR17 desktop.

 BitBake is a simple tool for the execution of tasks. It is derived
 from Portage, which is the package management system used by the Gentoo
 Linux distribution.

 It is most commonly used to build packages, as it can easily use
 its rudimentary inheritence to abstract common operations, such as
 fetching sources, unpacking them, patching them, compiling them, and
 so on. It is the basis of the OpenEmbedded project, which is being
 used for OpenZaurus, Familiar and a number of other Linux distributions.
