He prepared an example page in the Debian wiki [2] that inspired me to hack a little service that generates such customized URLs for Debian developers. Prominent members of the Python teams reached consensus (AFAICS) that python-support is the better option and there were already proposals to even include its functionallity in dh_python some day. Maybe we can get rid of python-central or python-support (or both) some time after the Squeeze release. I support the suggestion to move python-support and python-apt to standard. There is a difference between a package maintainer (the person or group mentioned in a package's Maintainer field) and the Debian Maintainer (DM) fields. While it is true that only DDs and DMs can upload to the archive, it is still possible to maintain packages via a sponsor (who is actually uploading packages for a non DD/DM maintainer. There are several good ways to find sponsors, one is mentors.d.n [1] the other is one of the different teams [2]. Lsyncd watches multiple directories trees through inotify. The first step after adding the watches is to rsync all directories with the remote host, and then sync single file by collecting the inotify events. So lsyncd is a light-weight live mirror solution that should be easy to install and use while blending well with your system. See lsyncd --help for detailed command line options. My motivation for packaging this software is the article at http://fak3r.com/2009/09/14/howto-build-your-own-open-source-dropbox-clone/ and that it seems useful to have a package to perform such a setup even more easily. -- Jan Dittberner - Debian Developer GPG-key: 4096R/558FB8DD 2009-05-10 B2FF 1D95 CE8F 7A22 DF4C F09B A73E 0055 558F B8DD http://ddportfolio.debian.net/ - http://people.debian.org/~jandd/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bitarrays are sequence types and behave very much like usual lists. Eight bits are represented by one byte in contiguous block of memory. The user can select between two representations; little-endian and big-endian. Most of the functionality is implemented in C. Methods for accessing the machine representation are provided. I wonder if it's time to reject uploads containing jquery.js. I assume that apt-file finds symlinks too because at a first glance I see my migrate package in the list. The package contains a symlink to the system jquery.js. ~> ls -la /usr/share/doc/python-migrate/html/_static/jquery.js lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 46 Mai 17 2012 /usr/share/doc/python-migrate/html/_static/jquery.js -> ../../../../javascript/sphinxdoc/1.0/jquery.js ~> ls -la /usr/share/javascript/sphinxdoc/1.0/jquery.js lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Mai 24 2012 /usr/share/javascript/sphinxdoc/1.0/jquery.js -> ../../jquery/jquery.js So IMHO before a mass filing the list should be cleaned from such false positives. replacement of merkel services in DDPortfolio
Hi, I changed an entry in the ddportfolioservice [1] to reflect the new location to lookup DD assigned debian.net domain names (Paul: thanks for the Wiki edit). There are some more merkel URLs that stopped working. Do you know whether there are replacements on other Debian hosts? The URLs in question are: * all messages (i.e., full text search for developer name on all bug logs) http://merkel.debian.org/~don/cgi/search.cgi?phrase=Jan+Dittberner;search=search * keylog (per-key upload list) (note: uses key fingerprint) http://merkel.debian.org/~enrico/keylog/B2FF1D95CE8F7A22DF4CF09BA73E008FB8DD.html * MIA database information ssh merkel.debian.org /srv/qa.debian.org/mia/mia-query ja...@debian.org * Group membership information ssh merkel.debian.org id jandd [1] http://ddportfolio.debian.net Regards Jan -- Jan Dittberner - Debian Developer GPG-key: 4096R/558FB8DD 2009-05-10 B2FF 1D95 CE8F 7A22 DF4C F09B A73E 0055 558F B8DD http://ddportfolio.debian.net/ - http://people.debian.org/~jandd/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#777732: ITP: nagios-check-xmppng -- monitoring plugin for checking XMPP servers
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Jan Dittberner * Package name: nagios-check-xmppng Version : 0.1.2 Upstream Author : Jan Dittberner * URL : https://exchange.icinga.org/jandd/check_xmppng * License : GPL Programming Lang: Python Description : monitoring plugin for checking XMPP servers implements a nagios check plugin for XMPP servers implementing the XMPP protocol as specified in RFC 6120. The program implements the following features: - check client to server (C2S) as well as server to server (S2S) ports - check XMPP servers on IPv6 and IPv4 addresses - support STARTTLS as specified in RFC 6120 section 5. - check the validity of the server certificate presented by the XMPP server The plugin has been implemented because of insufficiencies in the existing check_ssl_cert and check_xmpp plugins. Maximum acceptable timeouts as well as minimum acceptable number of days the server certificate needs to be valid can be specified as command line parameters. I'm upstream developer of the plugin and use it to monitor my own XMPP servers. -- Jan Dittberner - Debian Developer GPG-key: 4096R/558FB8DD 2009-05-10 B2FF 1D95 CE8F 7A22 DF4C F09B A73E 0055 558F B8DD https://portfolio.debian.net/ - https://people.debian.org/~jandd/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Hello, I take care of the administrative side of https://wiki.cacert.org/ which is also based on MoinMoin. We did a test installation and content copy of the CAcert wiki based on the 2.x branch after FrOSCon 2024. A a lot of our content had blocking issues (we use many macros to include shared content on multiple pages. We (another CAcert member, not myself) were in contact with MoinMoin people, but progress on the issues is quite slow. I think the MoinMoin people would appreciate help to get the 2.x-branch ready. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to help there.
