Issues with piuparts blocking testing migration

2020-01-05 Thread John Paul Adrian Glaubitz
Hi!

I recently uploaded a new upstream version of fs-uae which is blocked
from testing migration due to failing piuparts tests [1].

I have looked at the log file of the failing test but it's not clear
to me what the actual problem is.

The package also doesn't do any fancy stuff in its debian directory
so I'm not sure where the problems come from [2].

Could someone give a pointer who is more experienced with piuparts?

PS: Please keep me CC'ed, I'm not subscribed to debian-devel.

Thanks,
Adrian

If you were, you'd have known this was already discussed :)
Here's that thread[1] and here's the answer[2] you're looking for.

Haha, good point ;). Thanks for the pointer. I sometimes check debian-devel
messages in the archive but I haven't subscribed due to the large volume
of messages and the fact that I'm already on too many other lists.

Thanks,
Adrian

[debian] git depency on git-man

2020-01-05 Thread Anatoly Pugachev
Gerrit, hello.

Is it possible to close bugs related to git/git-man and dependency
between them?

As I understand, fix should be quite trivial (just move git-man from
git depends to recommends or suggests).

debian bug ids (some started almost 10 years ago, some with patches attached):

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=613892
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=688717
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=933402
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=948151

Or can someone of debian developers please fix it (commit a fix)?!

Thanks.

Bug#948216: ITP: boxfort -- simple, cross-platform sandboxing C library powering Criterion

2020-01-05 Thread SZALAY Attila
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: SZALAY Attila

* Package name: boxfort
  Version : 0.0.0-git20200105-3e16c0a
Upstream Author : Franklin "Snaipe" Mathieu
* URL : https://github.com/Snaipe/BoxFort
* License : MIT/X
  Programming Lang: C
Description : simple, cross-platform sandboxing C library powering
Criterion

BoxFort provides a simple API to run user code in isolated processes.
 .
Although BoxFort provides some kind of security of the parent process from
spawned sandboxes, a sandbox has by default the same system permissions and
access than its parent, and is hence, without care, ill-fitted for security
 purposes.
 .
The main goal of this project is not security, but portable code isolation
-- if you want complete system isolation, consider using properly configured
 containers.

This package is a dependency of the Criterion C++ test library.
I'm planning to maintain this alone at first, but it looks like a team is
forming
around the Criterion package and it's dependencies, so we might form a more
official team later.

Bug#948234: ITP: golang-github-hectane-go-acl -- Go library for manipulating ACLs on Windows

 simplifying the process.

Bug#948237: ITP: dnstwist -- domain name permutation engine

2020-01-05 Thread Peter Wienemann
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Peter Wienemann

  Package name: dnstwist
  Version : 20190706
  Upstream Author : Marcin Ulikowski
  URL : https://github.com/elceef/dnstwist
  License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Domain name permutation engine

For a given domain name, dnstwist generates a list of similarly
looking domains and performs DNS queries for each of them (A, ,
NS and MX). For MX records it checks whether there is an active mail
server which could intercept misdirected emails. Moreover it
estimates webpage similarity based on fuzzy hashes. This functionality
might be helpful in discovering typosquatters, phishing sites or
otherwise fraudulent services and corporate espionage.

This package will be team-maintained by the Debian Security Tools
Team.

I think many of us can guess the sender's identity. Don't give him the
attention.

At least be aware of a relation broken beyond repair.
