Hmm, I may see the reason for your problem. I'll need to run some tests
with the Salsa-CI pipelines to check if my hunch is correct. Should my
assumption be correct, I will fix this via a MR with the Salsa-CI-Team.

That's not the bug, the bug is the yaml file not being present at the
destination of the link[1]. Thanks for noticing; my email here is
reporting it in the right place (MFT set accordingly)

WWW team: the virtual-package-names-list file within the debian-policy
source recently was converted from .txt to .yaml. There is a copy of the
older .txt at [1], but no copy of the .yaml. Whatever process populates
that path needs to please be updated. Thanks!

Or alternatively: if linking to arbitrary files in [1] is to be
deprecated we could change the link in the debian-policy document
instead.

  Description : Grib file reader and Meteorological visualisation

XyGrib is a Grib file reader and visualizes meteorological data providing an
off-line capability to analyse weather forecasts or hindcasts. The XyGrib
software is released as open source under the GPLv3 License.

It is intended to be used as a capable weather work station for anyone with a
serious interest in examining weather. This would include members of the
sailing community, private and sport aviators, farmers, weather buffs and many
more.

XyGrib is the continuation of the zyGrib software package with a new team of
volunteers.

I am currently the maintainer of zyGrib (which is now dead upstream) and intend
to replace zyGrib with XyGrib.

I've reconstructed the situation to analyze it and was able to recreate
the way pbuilder and sbuild install build-dependencies in the Salsa-CI
pipeline context.

Expect a fix for this behavior soonish, after I concluded my final

The Data::Binary module provides string equivalents to the -T / -B operators.
Since these only work on file names and file handles, this module provides

  Upstream Author : Dave Rolsky
* URL : http://metacpan.org/release/Markdent

  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : event-based Markdown parser toolkit

 Markdent provides a toolkit for parsing Markdown
 (and Markdown variants, aka dialects).
 Unlike the other Markdown Perl tools,
 this module can be used for more than just generating HTML.
 The core parser generates events (like XML's SAX),
 making it easy to analyze a Markdown document in any number of ways.
 .
 If you're only interested in converting Markdown to HTML,
 you can use the Markdent::Simple::Document class to do this,
 although you can just as well use better battle-tested tools
 like Text::Markdown.
 .
 Markdown is a lightweight markup language
 with plain text formatting syntax.
 Its design allows it to be converted to many output formats,
 but the original tool by the same name only supports HTML.

This package will be maintained in the Debian Perl team.

Lambda2 is a local biosequence aligner optimized for many query sequences

This package is for the Lambda v2.x series which has an incompatible

 How do I eliminate this?

Needs someone to work on debcheck, to switch to libdpkg-perl for
parsing (WIP patch in #816448) and then to implement Provides support
(although I thought it already had that).

Bug#919748: ITP: nvchecker -- new-version checker for software releases

2019-01-18 Thread Afif Elghraoui
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Afif Elghraoui

* Package name: nvchecker
  Version : 1.3
  Upstream Author : lilydjwg
* URL : https://github.com/lilydjwg/nvchecker
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : new-version checker for software releases

 nvchecker (short for new version checker) is for checking if a new
 version of some software has been released.

This is a nice vendor-neutral solution for release monitoring. I think it
can also be quite useful in research, for example, to watch for updates of all
tools used in an analysis. And it doesn't have to be limited to watching
software releases, either. It could be applied to watching updates in
reference databases.

I intend to maintain nvchecker in the Debian group on salsa.
