FYI that's been fine for many years for packages like arch-specific
bootloaders that are receiving l10n translations, which is the area
Holger is looking at covering.

Details:

My target is pretty simple: to remove my name "Boyuan Yang" and all related
"Allow" information from https://ftp-master.debian.org/dm.txt since that is no
longer necessary. With my key moved out from DM keyring into DD keyring, that
seems not possible currently.

+1

I didn't contribute first to the discussion because when I catch up
reading the thread (several times during this summer) my brain is
exhausted already, and couldn't find the words. Also because mosquito
bites [1]: the inner-me debates between ignoring or using the
flamethrower; usually ignoring wins, in my case.

TTBOK that's not possible, and nothign is wrong in this regard with the
last keyring push.

Once a DM becomes a DD, their key is moved off the debian-maintainers
keyring and inserted into the debian-keyring keyring. At that point dak
forgets all about that DM and so it doesn't allow to change it anymore;
but it retains the status of the allowed packages.

ftpmasters clean up the list of every so often; I know it my case it
stayed there for nearly a year after I became DD nearly 3 years ago.

OOI, what's the reason for this? I can't understand what's troubling
you (personally, I was bothered by the green 'DM' labes on DDPO, but
nothing major as you can imagine…)

I expect the "incorrectness" is the troubling part of this scenario.
It certainly tickles my OCD tendencies.

In addition, cycles of joining/leaving/joining DM should not give one
any extra privileges over a new DM. Same goes for DD, which is why DSA
strip LDAP groups from retiring/MIA/rejoining DDs. I think ftp-master
should automatically do the same for DMs.

2018-08-28 Thread Samuel Henrique
I noticed that my key is also there as a DM. And I'll pretty soon ask
for a key transition and stop using that one.

Maybe it should be removed from there? It doesn't have to be now but
at least put on the next batch maybe.

AFAIK you don't here.
At the very least, `ud-lock` doesn't strip any group membership, nor
many other details.
Julien proposed a patch for ud-ldap some time in the past to do it, but
I don't think it was ever merged.
