Bug#878386: ITP: golang-gopkg-inf.v0 -- Golang library for "infinite-precision" decimal arithmetic

2017-10-13 Thread Sascha Steinbiss

* Package name: golang-gopkg-inf.v0
  Version : 0.9.0-1
  Upstream Author : Péter Surányi
* URL : https://github.com/go-inf/inf
* License : BSD-3-clause
  Programming Lang: Go
  Description : Golang library for "infinite-precision" decimal arithmetic

Package inf (type inf.Dec) implements "infinite-precision" decimal arithmetic.
"Infinite precision" describes two characteristics: practically unlimited
precision for decimal number representation and no support for calculating
with any specific fixed precision. (Although there is no practical limit on
precision, inf.Dec can only represent finite decimals.)

  Description : HTTP+HTTP/2 client for Android and Java applications

OkHttp is an HTTP client that’s efficient by default. It supports both
synchronous blocking calls and async calls with callbacks.
  * HTTP/2 support allows all requests to the same host to share a socket.
  * Connection pooling reduces request latency (if HTTP/2 isn’t available).
  * Transparent GZIP shrinks download sizes.
  * Response caching avoids the network completely for repeat requests

libokhttp-java is a new build-dependency for the latest version of
mediathekview.

Many of these packages (especially old X stuff) “should” migrate to

That might be too much work and result in compatibility problems, but
maybe instead we could move all the X stuff to another path, I dunno,
like /usr/share/X11R7/bin?

Bug#878422: ITP: voronota -- Voronoi diagram-based tool to find atom contacts

2017-10-13 Thread Andrius Merkys
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Andrius Merkys

* Package name: voronota
  Version : 1.18.1877
  Upstream Author : Kliment Olechnovič
* URL : https://bitbucket.org/kliment/voronota
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : Voronoi diagram-based tool to find atom contacts

The analysis of macromolecular structures often requires a comprehensive
definition of atomic neighborhoods. Such a definition can be based on the
Voronoi diagram of balls, where each ball represents an atom of some van
der Waals radius. Voronota is a software tool for finding all the
vertices of the Voronoi diagram of balls. Such vertices correspond to the
centers of the empty tangent spheres defined by quadruples of balls.
Voronota is especially suitable for processing three-dimensional
structures of biological macromolecules such as proteins and RNA.

Voronota is directed at generating Voronoi diagrams for atoms, however,
it could be directly applied to other fields of interest as a generic
algorithm. Voronota was compared to QTFier and awVoronoi and it was
shown to perfom better than these two tools with any number of atoms
(Olechnovič et al. 2014, doi:10.1002/jcc.23538).

I plan to team-maintain the package in Debian Science. I will need a
sponsor to upload the package once it is ready.

Bug#878438: ITP: assess-el -- test support functions for Emacs

2017-10-13 Thread Lev Lamberov
Package: wnpp
Owner: Lev Lamberov
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: assess-el
  Version : 0.4
  Upstream Author : Phillip Lord
* URL or Web page : https://github.com/phillord/assess
* License : GPL-3+
  Description : test support functions for Emacs

This package provides functions to support ert, the Emacs Regression
Test framework. It includes:

 * a set of predicates for comparing strings, buffers and file contents;
 * explainer functions for all predicates giving useful output;
 * macros for creating many temporary buffers at once, and for restoring
   the buffer list;
 * methods for testing indentation, by comparison or "round-tripping";
 * methods for testing fontification;

Assess aims to be a stateless as possible, leaving Emacs unchanged
whether the tests succeed or fail, with respect to buffers, open
files and so on; this helps to keep tests independent from each
other. Violations of this will be considered a bug.

Assess aims also to be as noiseless as possible, reducing and
suppressing extraneous messages where possible, to leave a clean ert
output in batch mode.
