Bug#857503: ITP: switcheroo-control -- D-Bus service to check the availability of dual-GPU
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-CC: debian-devel@lists.debian.org Owner: jbi...@ubuntu.com Package Name: switcheroo-control Version : 1.1 Upstream Author : Bastien Nocera URL : https://github.com/hadess/switcheroo-control License : GPL-3+ Programming Lang: C Description: D-Bus service to check the availability of dual-GPU For systems that have both an integrated GPU and a dedicated GPU, this package by default will force the integrated GPU to be used to save power. You can launch individual apps using the dedicated GPU by running them with the environment variable DRI_PRIME=1. Or you can right-click on the app (while it's not running) in GNOME Shell's Activities Overview and choose the "Launch using Dedicated Graphics Card" option. If this default behavior is not appropriate, uninstall this package or set xdg.force_integrated=0 as a kernel command-line option in your bootloader. Other Info -- I am a Debian Maintainer and I expect we will maintain this package in the pkg-gnome team. Packaging is at https://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-gnome/switcheroo-control.git/ gnome-control-center and gnome-shell 3.24 optionally use the interface exposed by this service. Fedora 25 backported these enhancements to the GNOME 3.22 it shipped. http://www.hadess.net/2016/10/dual-gpu-integration-in-gnome.html The project name is derived from the Linux kernel interface it uses: vga_switcheroo. Bug#857504: ITP: graphene -- library of graphic data types
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-CC: debian-devel@lists.debian.org Owner: jbi...@ubuntu.com Package Name: graphene Version: 1.6.0 Upstream Author : Emmanuele Bassi URL: https://github.com/ebassi/graphene License : Expat Programming Lang: C Description: library of graphic data types Graphene provides a small set of mathematical types needed to implement graphic libraries that deal with 2D and 3D transformations and projections. This library provides types and their relative API; it does not deal with windowing system surfaces, drawing, scene graphs, or input. Other Info -- I am a Debian Maintainer and I expect we will maintain this package in the pkg-gnome team. Packaging is at https://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-gnome/graphene.git/ graphene is a required build-dependency for gtk4. The first major milestone for gtk4 is 3.90, expected later this month. gtk3 is stable with continued bugfix releases in the 3.22.* series. https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/GTK+/Roadmap My packaging uses meson. (GNOME is considering switching many of their modules to meson for 3.26 later this year.) Thanks, Jeremy Bicha

Bug#857508: ITP: gnome-games-app -- Game browser and launcher for GNOM
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: jbi...@ubuntu.com Package Name: gnome-games-app Version: 3.23.91 Upstream Author : Adrien Plazas, Sebastien Nicouleaud URL: https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Games License : GPL-3+ Programming Lang: Vala Description: Game browser and launcher for GNOME GNOME Games is an application to browse your video games library and easily pick and play a game from it. Other Info -- I am a Debian Maintainer and I have packaged this for the pkg-gnome team. Packaging is at https://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-gnome/gnome-games.git/ The upstream project is named gnome-games which conflicts with the Debian metapackage gnome-games. gnome-games originally was the name of the collection of GNOME casual games released together and managed in the same repo. When they were split into separate packages years ago, we created the metapackage for upgrades and convenience. When I complained about the name conflict, the developer suggested we use the name gnome-games-app for packaging. https://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2016-June/msg00040.html Thanks, Jeremy Bicha

Re: Looking for new maintainer(s) for net-snmp

As I seem to gather orphans for some reason I'll put my hand up to maintain this; welcome to the seeS orphanage net-snmp! You'll be joining other ex-orphans such as procps, psmisc and wordpress (but we don't talk about lprng which got kicked out). I've had a love/hate relationship (is there any other sort with snmp) with snmp the protocol for over 20 years and have poked around the code before. Looks like the package has missed a few transitions (ssl and mysql seem the obvious two) and needs some love. No disrespect to the previous maintainers, I have been in the exact same place with other packages and know how it is. If you're thinking you'd like to help I certainly can do the team maintainer thing, just let me know where you're looking at. It's all in git now so it's reasonably simple to keep things in-line. I got upload privileges so don't need an uploader but if the older maintainers of net-snmp want to lend a hand from time to time, that would be great. So, uh, let me fix wordpress jessie first! - Craig > -- Craig Small (@smallsees) http://dropbear.xyz/ csmall at : enc.com.au Debian GNU/Linux http://www.debian.org/ csmall at : debian.org GPG fingerprint:5D2F B320 B825 D939 04D2 0519 3938 F96B DF50 FEA5
