More than 20,000 source packages in Debian unstable

2014-03-02 Thread Lucas Nussbaum
Hi,

Not a very useful fact:
Since 2014-01-25, we have more than 20,000 source packages in Debian
unstable (main only).

(That's with unique source packages names; we had more than 20,000
source packages in unstable/main for a while already, but there were
some duplicate ones with different versions due to the delayed removal
of libraries, AFAIK.)

We currently have 19,348 source packages in jessie. Will it be the first
Debian release with more than 20,000 source packages?

Lucas

Bug#740580: O: fbset -- framebuffer device maintenance program

2014-03-02 Thread Guillem Jover
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Going on with my intention to try to match my continued dissatisfaction
with the project with my dedication to it, I've just orphaned the fbset
package.

This package has a lethargic upstream, and needs to be synced from time
to time with the latest Linux framebuffer header, accelerators, docs and
modes, from «linux/include/linux/fb.h» and «linux/Documentation/fb/»
respectively, which I've not done since linux-3.0.0-rc1, as I can't be
bothered any longer. It also produces a udeb, so people interested in
the installer might want to take a look.

The package description is:
Program to modify settings for the framebuffer devices (/dev/fb[0-9]*
or /dev/fb/[0-9]*) on Linux, like depth, virtual resolution, timing
 parameters etc.

Thanks,
Guillem
