I've not seen any IPMI/BMC like capabilities natively on any of the
Loongson boards yet, so was planning on having a separate box(es) to do
remote power and console access. For a small farm (upto 4 boxes) it's not
too expensive. For a larger farm (8 boxes) it is more, but still within my
reach.
When we get to that point then I intend to work with the DSA team to see
what they presently have, and what they will need. It's on my list of needs
:-)

I'll be interested on the 3A 2001 reply though - that is more likely to
have in-built remote capabilities.

We have non-programming DDs

http://www.debian.org/vote/2010/vote_002
which is not exactly what we want since those lack the upload privileges, but
it would get Ingo the (overdue) member status.

Bug#731349: ITP: sparse -- Semantic parser for C

2013-12-04 Thread Mark Brown
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Mark Brown

* Package name: sparse
  Version : 0.4.5
  Upstream Author : Christopher Li
* URL : https://sparse.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Main_Page
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: C
Description : Semantic parser for C

Sparse, the semantic parser, provides a compiler frontend capable of
parsing most of ANSI C as well as many GCC extensions, and a collection
of sample compiler backends, including a static analyzer also called
"sparse". Sparse provides a set of annotations designed to convey
semantic information about types, such as what address space pointers
point to, or what locks a function acquires or releases.

Sparse used to be licensed under a non-free license but has recently
been relicensed under a MIT license.

you don't need an ITP to move it from non-free to main?

 sparse | 0.4.1+git20081218-1 | squeeze/non-free […]
 sparse | 0.4.3+20110419-1| wheezy/non-free […]
 sparse | 0.4.5~rc1-1 | jessie/non-free […]
 sparse | 0.4.5~rc1-1 | sid/non-free […]

The relicensing is good news. :)

provide a fully featured GUI for managing networks. Currently, the only
supported backend is NetworkManager. Support for wired, wireless, mobile
and VPN networks are provided. The widget is exclusively written for KDE
Plasma workspaces and it is not supposed to work in other environments.
 .
In order to start using the widget, look for "Network Management" in the "Add
Widgets" dialog of the Plasma workspace you're using.

This package replaces plasma-widget-networkmanagement which is no longer
supported upstream.

ExtUtils::Typemap exists merely as a compatibility wrapper
around ExtUtils::Typemaps. In a nutshell, ExtUtils::Typemap was renamed to
ExtUtils::Typemaps because the Typemap directory in lib/ could collide with the
typemap file on case-insensitive file systems.

This package is required by Slic3r - G-code generator for 3D printers.

I would go to option a, opening a debian-ports group on alioth, and also
hosting the git there (which means one less service to move).

I am personally can provide some manpower from time to time to do the
transfer, but clearly can't be involved that much more. It will mostly
depends how many software has to be rewritten to match the new machine
or DSA requirements. I remember having spent hours rewriting parts of
mini-dak when moving debian-ports to the DSA provided machine to
minimize the effects of a very low fork rate due to virtualization,
while people where sending mails to complain the archive was slow or
broken. I don't want that again.
