RFH: poppler

2010-04-17 Thread Josselin Mouette
Hi,

The poppler package is in great need of more co-maintainers. It receives
quite a number of the bugs from the evince and okular packages. Neither
Loïc nor I really have the time to deal with them. I just happen to
upload a new version from time to time, and sometimes it happens to fix
some bugs.

Since it has become an important piece of the desktop, it could really
use some help.

Upstream is responsive so this is mostly a matter of packaging new
versions (maybe using experimental for development versions) and
forwarding bugs. It is also one of the packages that require active
maintenance in stable.

Cheers,

Like other GMail users (including myself), your ack/reject mail might

Bug#578153: Multiple clipboards and cut and paste buffers in X11

2010-04-17 Thread markhobley
Package: general
Severity: normal

This report covers problems with multiple cut and paste buffers
due to multiple clipboards being used in X11 applications.

Problems include: being unable to paste data copied from an X11 application
into a console mode application.

Inconsistent and confusing copy and paste operations using the mouse, due to
menu copy operations not matching the mouse selections and clicks.
(The middle button paste does not match the Menu: Edit, Paste in program
menus. Likewise the dragover copy, does not match the Menu: Edit, Paste in
program menus).

Copying information from a KDE application (such as konqueror), does not
allow a corresponding paste into an non-KDE application (neither the dragover
and click copy mechanism, nor the Menu: Edit, Copy, Menu: Edit, Paste
facilities enable the data to be copied). (I am not sure whether this is
window manager specific, but it is certainly a problem if I am using icewm.)

Bitcoin is a free open source peer-to-peer electronic cash system that

trusted parties. Users hold the crypto keys to their own money and
transact directly with each other, with the help of a P2P network to
check for double-spending.

Trunk version of linux-image ISSUE

2010-04-17 Thread JW Foster
I', sent this previously but so far no reply. Can anyone tell me how to
get rid of this issue. I did an update & the trunk version of
linux-image was installed as the upgraded version. A few weeks later I
tried to install the newer regular version & after a few attempts it
finally installed & grub configured it. However it is not properly
configured according to the installer as it keeps trying to configure
the non-trunk version every time I do an update. Now I've been able to
select the non-trunk version & have my system running it, even though
it's not properly configured. I tried to then remove the trunk ver. &
this is the error message I get.

This looks like a bug in extlinux, as the failing script belongs to it.
Please run 'reportbug extlinux'.

For future reference, the primary list for kernel-related questions is
normally debian-ker...@lists.debian.org.

I'm awfully sorry, but I got distracted by work related stuff and was only able
to get into that LSB meeting for one opresentation that appeared to be only of
theoretical interest for us. So I cannot really comment on it, sorry again.
