Re: Bits from the DPL
Hi Steve > the more installation and upgrade testing we can do now, the > better. I'm really sorry to trouble you directly as I'm sure you have better things to do than reply to mails such as this; however, I'd like to help test the Etch -> Lenny upgrade, but I can't find the Lenny release notes (particularly the upgrade part) anywhere. I've tried Google, I've tried the debian.org site. Could you tell me where they are and, possibly, make it a little easier for others to find them (maybe put a link on the Lenny .iso download page)? This interface aims at being the most Pythonic possible: you grab scalars using attributes and columns are like dictionaries. Re: dists/etch/Release.gpg missing from DVD images
Hi Is it still the case that one needs to manually add an (gpg checking) exception for DVD images for upgrades from etch to lenny? If so, can someone please provide a text (license: GPL v2) for inclusion in the release notes? Thanks already. Luk -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". You need the APT option APT::Authentication::TrustCDROM "true"; Debian Installer adds this since Sarge in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/00trustcdrom IIRC. Nevertheless there is no way I know to have this working also with CD/DVD image files instead of using CD/DVDs registered with apt-cdrom. And I also noticed during my last upgrade that unsigned packages provided via loopback devices are ignored if another APT source with signed packages (even from a very slow network mirror) are available. Volunteer needed for Iceape security updates in Lenny
A volunteer is needed to build and test the Iceape security updates in Lenny. Patches are provided through a patch set for each update round, but the Security Team and the Mozilla maintainers lack the ressources for the proper integration work. So if you use Iceape and want to continue to use it in Lenny please step forward and mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] and keep [EMAIL PROTECTED] CCed. Intent To Hijack: ocfs2-tools
Hi, The maintainer of ocfs2-tools: David Martínez Moreno <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> appears to be inactive. I have tried to contact him regarding ocfs2-tools for the last 6 months, with no response. All open and NMUed bugs concerning ocfs2-tools have not seen any activity from him since almost a year and a half. If I might not get any sign of life from him within the next 2 weeks, I will take over ocfs2-tools. Bug#501157: linux-image-2.6.26: New Intel Wifi Link 5100 and 5300.
Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-686 Version: 2.6.26-5 Severity: wishlist Hello, Intel has a new wireless chipset. Laptops with those chipset are currently hitting the market, and we can assume they will replace the 3965/4965 soon. Are there any plan (and any chance) to have them supported in Lenny ? This should really be implemented as a kernel driver using either the hwmon or thermal interfaces and a generic fan control daemon implemented on top of that. -- Matthew Garrett | [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
