Since this one turned out to be very popular at Debian's trade fair
booth at SYSTEMS 2006, Munich, Germany, I decided to put it at
http://people.debian.org/~stigge/packages/ for you, since NEW queue
processing needs some time nowadays.

Apart from that the consitution calls for it, could he just second it
(if he hasn't done so anyway) to make it "right"?

Active port forwarder is a software tool for secure port forwarding.
It uses SSL to increase security of communication between a server and
a client. TCP/UDP protocols are supported.

APF is dedicated for people, who don't have an external ip number
and want to make some services available across the net. In some cases APF
can be useful for network administrators also.

Feature to use the external modules for traffic management makes apf
a very flexible and powerful tool.

I know nothing about SELinux, so can't really comment on the patch. In
general, however, we encourage people wanting to patch openssh to talk
to upstream first: Trying to maintain substantial patch-sets between
openssh relseases just causes pain, particularly if the feature
involved is later implemented in upstream openssh, with differing
config options &c. Furthermore, if upstream don't like a patch, we are
naturally reluctant to deploy it ourselves.

Have the bits of this patch that aren't Debian-specific been even
shown to upstream? If not, please don't go slamming them willy-nilly
into Debian's openssh.

Matthew

Given you're talking about cgwd, you prolly mean beryl (nee
compiz-quinnstorm) rather than the original compiz which is
in Debian.

The beryl packaging is being undertaken by the X Strike Force, who're
also maintianing the compiz packages. So no problem yet, you're better
of reading the debian-x list archives to discover why it's not shipped
yet. (I believe they're doing an internal code-freeze for Etch, but I
dunno if Beryl's in that freeze or not)

As for cgwd, I presume that also became something in the beryl
packages (beryl-manager?) and so is being packaged as part of the
beryl packaging.

I dunno about Xgl, it looks like most of the interest shifted to AIGLX,
again you're better off reading the debian-x archives.

That is an admirable policy, especially when applied to new
features. However, openssh already has SELinux -- but there is a wee
bit of bit-rot setting in. SELinux has changed; the SELinux
infrastructure shipping in Etch is different fro the one that the
patches are based on. It would be a bug if the features of SELinux
were degraded (MLS levels being set to the default, low capability
ones) if one used ssh to log in as opposed to directly logging in.

So, since this is just bringing bits of openssh in line with
the version of SELinux we ship, I think it would be a bug _not_ to
update the SELinux code in openssh.

This change brings us in line with the fedora amd gentoo
SELinux patches. so it might help getting it upstream,

Description : Graphical interface for molecular phylogenetic inference

Phylo_win is a graphical colour interface for molecular phylogenetic
inference. It performs neighbor-joining, parsimony and maximum
likelihood methods and bootstrap with any of them. Many distances can be
used including Jukes & Cantor, Kimura, Tajima & Nei, HKY, Galtier & Gouy
(1995), LogDet for nucleotidic sequences, Poisson correction for protein
sequences, Ka and Ks for codon sequences. Species and sites to include
in the analysis are selected by mouse. Reconstructed trees can be drawn,
edited, printed, stored and evaluated according to numerous criteria.
.
 Homepage: http://pbil.univ-lyon1.fr/software/phylowin.html

One of the authors asked me if I could package Phylo_win for Debian.
After inspecting the sources, I figured out that this program uses
sources files from the Phylip program, which frobids its use for profit.
Therfore, Phylo_win will unfortunately have to be distributed in
"non-free", oustide of Debian. I will nevertheless contact the author(s)
of the derived source files and ask if they are willing to give an
exemption for Phylo_win.

Phylo_win will depend on Vibrant (ncbi-tools6) and lesstif.
