I suspect that you don't have libc or libc4 installed, which contains libdb, which is needed by your perl binary (since it doesn't use dynamic loading). Darren, can you please release an a.out perl that uses dynamic loading? Ray -- ART A friend of mine in Tulsa, Okla., when I was about eleven years old. I'd be interested to hear from him. I've uploaded an interim, static libs-only, ELF version until the new maintainer can take over. 35396e830f87b0d12c67c9e86ac20926 ncurses-1.9.7a-1.diff.gz 113c76a1e4730763278b84ebd69db960 ncurses-1.9.7a-1.tar.gz fdd1162bfd8d4f7c725e8d01f4e186c7 ncurses-developer-1.9.7a-1.deb 8c50d377c4be8a32d7fdfa54802005ce ncurses-runtime-1.9.7a-1.deb -rw-r--r-- 1 daviddavid3709 Nov 19 00:57 ncurses-1.9.7a-1.diff.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 daviddavid 681052 Nov 19 01:05 ncurses-1.9.7a-1.tar.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 daviddavid 336466 Nov 19 01:09 ncurses-developer-1.9.7a-1.deb -rw-r--r-- 1 daviddavid 446831 Nov 19 01:13 ncurses-runtime-1.9.7a-1.deb > Also, the ELF ncurses in the experimental directory seems to use > the wrong soname. I have some good news and some bad news. The ncurses developers have added support for ELF shared libs, including assigning version numbers, to the main distribution. Unfortunately, they haven't shown a strong commitement to maintaining binary comptaibility. The major version number has already changed once. David -- David EngelOptical Data Systems, Inc. Re: ELF packages (fwd)
I don't remember who pointed this out. I think it might have been Bill Mitchell. David Forwarded message: > From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Nov 18 15:44:20 1995 > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (H.J.
