Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
I try to create an house with the arch workbench.
When I want to add a window, this is not created

   * What was the outcome of this action?
I get this error :

Hi,

I finally manage to find where the problem comes from trying to build
the package from source using this tutorial:

http://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace

At the end of the package building process, it complains about fglrx
stuff which was installed on my computer. Removing all the packages
related to fglrx and restarting X have allowed me to get hugin starting
normally on my computer.
However, removing the fglrx stuff makes my windows moving very slowly
and scrolling as well. My video card is a asus eah4350 silent and i am
using the radeon driver.

Cheers,

Bug#615159: nepomulkservices consume too many memory

2011-02-25 Thread philippe
Package: kdebase-runtime
Version: 4:4.4.5-1
Severity: grave
Tags: squeeze

I have reboot the pc, launch kde, eclipse.
I leave le pc idle 10 hours.
When I reuse it, the system was usuable, I launch the system-monitor,
I see that one of the 2 nepomukservices is consuming more than 950 Mo of the
2Go memory.
So with swapping it was usable.

I have stop the service indexing.
I did not see any other option to control these services: limit the memory may
be a good option.
May be there a memory leak ?

Bug#890307: tortoisehg: needs update for mercurial 4.6

2018-06-28 Thread Philippe Pepiot
In case someone want to take over this update, we made a package for
tortoisehg 4.6 (I also sent this to the maintainers few weeks ago).

See attached diff and dsc available at
https://apt.logilab.fr/pool/main/t/tortoisehg/tortoisehg_4.6-1.dsc

Changes are:

  * update to upstream version 4.6
  * drop compiled pyqt ui files (which are now part of the release on bitbucket)
  * add python-pyqt5.qtsvg as explicit dependency, it's required to have icons
properly displayed but isn't pulled with --no-install-recommends.

For now it seems that OpenSSL 1.1.0f-3+deb9u2 available in
stretch/security force TLS 1.2 only in https when using Apache (whatever
SSLProtocol Directive specify).

Is there any way to allow TLS 1 and TLS 1.1 with apache in stable ?

Thanks a lot

Hi Sylvestre,

I take a look at the bug you reported and I didn't managed to reproduce
it. I've rebuilt wcc in a newly updated sid pbuilder env and the package
was built correctly.
I took a look on the missing header you reported (diagnostics.h). This
header is a part of the binutils-dev package in sid, which is in the
build depends of  the package.

Does the build fail on a buildd host ? Can you confirm it is still
failing ? I attach the package buildinfo to this mail in order to
compare if needed.

Cheers,

Bug#956472: atitvout: Consider removing this package

2020-05-01 Thread Philippe Coval
Hi,
Thank you for checking about obsolete package,
but I have a computer (i386) that is still using it,
Is debian planning to get rid of this arch soon ?

If not I can rebuild a version based on the sources at:

https://github.com/abandonware/atitvout

Since SVN repo is gone:

http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/collab-maint/deb-maint/atitvout/

Or has this remove moved elsewhere ?

Bug#870298: 4.11.0-2-amd64 headers cannot be installed

2017-07-31 Thread Philippe Grégoire

Package: linux-headers-4.11.0-2-amd64
Version: 4.11.11-1+b1
Severity: serious

Hi,

I have been trying to install linux-headers-4.11.0-2-amd64 on
unstable/sid for a couple of days now and cannot due to an
unresolved dependency.

Specifically, the package depends on linux-headers-4.11.0-2-common
revision (= 4.11.11-1+b1), but the latter does not exist.

Can someone check that revision numbers and dependencies are
correct?

Bug#873821: wcc Depends: binutils (< 2.29) but 2.29-8 is to be installed

Thanks for the report.

I've check where the error comes from. This is the result of the version
of binutils dependency (<2.29) generated by dpkg-buildpackage. The
source package only has a build dependency on binutils-dev (without
explicit version).
When building again the package, the Depends list is updated:

Depends: libbinutils (>= 2.29), libbinutils (<< 2.30), libc6 (>= 2.14),
libcapstone3 (>= 3.0.0), libelf1 (>= 0.142), liblua5.3-0, libopenlibm2 (>=
0.4), lua5.2

This means that a simple rebuild of wcc with uptodate sid should correct
the error, but if I update the package version (to 0.0.2+dfsg-2), the
upgrade test of piupart will also fails, while the -1 version of the
package is not rebuilt in the Debian ftp-master.

Ok, I thought that a binNMU was first required to make it work first.
I'll then wait a little to finish the update to close #873783 in the

Bug#1062799: glslang-dev: Missing libraries listed in glslang.pc -- fixed?

2024-03-20 Thread Philippe SWARTVAGHER

Hello,

I think this is fixed in glslang/14.0.0-2:

pkg-config --libs glslang
-lglslang -lMachineIndependent -lOSDependent -lSPVRemapper -lpthread

Also based on what is in changelog of this last version of glslang-dev.

Bug#1062799: glslang-dev: Missing libraries listed in glslang.pc -- fixed.

2024-05-26 Thread Philippe SWARTVAGHER

Hello,

I realized this bug prevents shaderc from migrating to testing.

Please have a look on my MR
(https://salsa.debian.org/xorg-team/vulkan/glslang/-/merge_requests/6),
which (among other things) fixes this bug.

Thanks,

Philippe.

Bug#1072110: glslang breaks shaderc autopkgtest: undefined reference: ABI breakage?? -- not the case

2024-05-29 Thread Philippe SWARTVAGHER

Hello,

Well, this issue is "normal".

Currently, shaderc 2023.2-1 is in testing. This version suffers from an
"undefined symbol" bug
(https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1070983). This bug is
fixed in version 2023.8-1 which is now in unstable. However, this
version never migrated to testing due to a blocking bug in glslang
(https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1062799). This bug in
glslang is now fixed with the last upload.

I'm a beginner regarding this kind transition / blocking bug / CI, so I
don't know how this bug can be solved...

I don't know if it helps, but I have a RFS
(https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1072181) for a new
version of shaderc (which changes nothing about this bug). You can see
on Salsa that autopkgtests pass with the version of glslang available in
unstable: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/shaderc/-/pipelines/683648.

Philippe.

Can you please elaborate how the fix works.

libshaderc1 was in fact underlinked (see also this bug:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1029939), triggering
this kind of undefined symbol errors.

The fix comprises to correctly link the library at build time (see
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/shaderc/-/commit/5e2d70f32363ab86d94a170087303e6fb62a86af).

I don't think a transition for glslang is required here, since the
missing symbol reported by Debian CI exists in library shipped by
glslang in both testing and unstable (I just checked that). The problem
was really a linking issue. Looking at the changelog of glslang, the
update from version 13 to 14 included some changes of how libraries are
built and I think this is the origin of the problem.

As I understand it (but I can be wrong), the current state of glslang
and shaderc in unstable is correct; mixing versions from testing and
unstable triggers bugs that are now fixed in unstable.

Philippe.

Bug#1052058: apt: refuses to downgrade itself to a version that works on the system

2023-09-18 Thread Philippe Grégoire
Hi,

I'm being hit hard by this at the moment. Context:

```
# apt --version
apt 2.7.5 (amd64)
# apt-get autoremove
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 11 to remove and 15 not upgraded.
E: /bin resolved to a different inode than /usr/bin
E: Unmerged usr is no longer supported, install usrmerge to continue.
N: See
https://www.debian.org/releases/bookworm/amd64/release-notes/ch-information.en.html#a-merged-usr-is-now-required
 for more details.
# mount | grep -E ' (/|/usr) '
/dev/mapper/vg.x-root on / type ext4 (rw,noatime)
/dev/mapper/vg.x-usr on /usr type ext4 (rw,noatime)
# dpkg -l usrmerge | grep ^ii
ii  usrmerge   37   all  Convert the system to the merged
/usr directories scheme
```

As such, I can no longer install or remove packages since my system is
partitioned. I'd like to point out that the above link does not specifically
mention disk partitioning, but only how files are placed on disk.

Obviously, re-partitioning the system is something I'd like to avoid at the
moment.

Thinking about it, in the long term, due to the merge and how packagers are
expected to be able to address files (e.g. /bin/sh vs /usr/bin/sh), I don't see
any other way than re-partitioning. Re-partitioning will be done by a future me.

Regards,

P.S. I'm uncertain why /lib isn't also merged with /usr/lib

Bug#1052058: apt: refuses to downgrade itself to a version that works on the system

2023-09-19 Thread Philippe Grégoire
Apologies. It seems that usrmerge had not successfully performed the merge
(another issue). It was installed, as can be seen in my first message, but
running /usr/lib/usrmerge/convert-usrmerge manually did the trick. It also
merges /lib*.

Thank you and with my best regards,

Bug#390796: Not blocking #372252

2006-10-03 Thread Philippe Cloutier

As this prevents bug #372252 from
being fixed in testing, this will most probably result in nvidia-glx-legacy
being dropped from etch if new binary packages aren't made available soon.

This bug does not prevent #372252 from being fixed in testing. britney
is simply unhappy about introducing a dependency which isn't satisfiable
with packages in the archive so the update needs to be forced. At the
risk of sounding insisting, I'd like to recommend the release team one
more and last time to force or remove as appropriate the NVIDIA graphics
drivers, this time removing nvidia-graphics-legacy-modules-i386 and
nvidia-graphics-modules-i386 and forcing or removing
nvidia-graphics-drivers-legacy. I do not expect this to happen soon
anymore, but I would be grateful if this could be done before Etch is
released.

I don't even have an unstable system, I can't tell for you.
Anyway, "renders package unusable" means just that, not that the bug renders
the package unusable for one person or one system, so I'm downgrading the
report to important, although I'm not saying that this is an important bug or
even a bug at all.

Quoting Robert van Engelen (engelen) :

> Note that wsdl2h and all other parts of gSOAP are covered under GPL.

Sounds good to me, if there isn't additional obligations, is it ?

> The
> commercialization of the software is legally possible without forking or
> repackaging due to restricting the contributions to the gSOAP public
> license (not GPL).

Now, some investigation are needed to make it clearer
If it helps

Hi,

This bug happend because swt isnt found on ia64,
It seems that the jar file is badly linked :
http://ftp.fr.debian.org/debian/pool/main/e/eclipse/libswt3.2-gtk-java_3.2.2-5_ia64.deb
./usr/lib/java/swt3.2-gtk.jar: broken symbolic link to
`../eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.swt.gtk.linux.ia64_3.2.2.v3236.jar'

./usr/lib/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.swt.gtk.linux.ia64_3.2.2.R3_2_maintenance.jar

So I guess it's trivial to fix

BTW, According to policy /usr/share/java/swt.jar MUST be present too
http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/java-policy/x105.html

(reported also in http://bugs.debian.org/464735 )

It seems that the jar file is badly linked :

I think this can be easly fixed using wildcards in debian/rules
check this patch attached or online at :

http://rzr.online.fr/docs/contribs/patches/eclipse_3.2.2-6.0.debdiff

Note that I am not able to build it on Itanium, can you double check

About the "/usr/share/java/swt.jar wish"
I agrea this is not appropriate since it's arch dependant

Unless someone send me an ipod, I fear this bug is going to be hard to

Hi,
I'll try to fix this bug, see comments bellow

yes but It worked as expected since
> * RC Buggy.
I'll see If I can find a workaround,
actually the problem is not in ativout itself but in lrmi
which is also noticed in
http://bugs.debian.org/490746

BTW, would it be a good idea to package lrmi appart ?

I am not sure it works on all gfx adapters see :

Orphaned? I just adopted it

I'll try to have a look at it before summer vacations , so I let the bug
open
untill a next release

related to the use of ucf. Maybe the problem is not in the
ndoutil-nagios2-mysql package but in the ucf package.

I tried to comment the line "ucf
/usr/share/ndoutils-nagios2-mysql/tmpl/ndomod.cfg /etc/nagios2/ndomod.cfg" in
the
/var/lib/dpkg/info/ndoutils-nagios2-mysql.postinst and run the command
"dpkg --configure -a". It works fine, this is the result of the command
:

Bug#474410: debian : > /build/buildd/tuxguitar-0.9.99~1.0rc2/TuxGuitar/build.xml:42: Unable to find a javac compiler;

2008-04-05 Thread Philippe Coval
Hi,

This sounds weird to me

Normally it should use sun-java6-jdk compiler

can you email me the full log of this,
same for your environment ($ export )

make sure to unset JAVA_HOME before building it

Regards

Bug#473050: Patch which seems to work with all font config

2008-04-18 Thread Philippe Poilbarbe
It seems that the problem come when there is 'bold' or anything else
after the font without the font size.

Here is a patch which corrects this:

hi

thanx to remind me this issue

Ubuntu used the same patch, I merged in upcoming version at :
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/a/atitvout/

I think it is ready to be uploaded like francois did for previous version

btw, maybe packaging lrmi alone would be a good thing for later

Regards

If someone if interested to help or anything else then check this :

it contains :
http://rzr.online.fr/docs/contribs/patches/bewan-adsl-0.9.3-linux-2.6.26.patch

Also available on :
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/non-free/u/unicorn/

Feel free to contact me for helping or mentoring

Bug#506883: [debian] tuxguitar: hard-coded dependencies on libraries

2008-11-26 Thread Philippe Coval
Hi,

Thank you for reporting this, I've fixed this among other things :

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tuxguitar/

Tests need be done before uploading it, (maybe next week)

Anyone of the java team can mentor me, for cooperative maintenance ?

Regards
