Bug#611493: dmesg obtained from initrd shell

2011-09-07 Thread pascal . bernard1
If it is a hardware problem, I do not see why it doesn't show with the Mint
system. Moreover, if all is fine for a few minutes, the computer will go for
hours, using all the memory, without any panic. I will try to install a Mint
Debian on a native partition to see what happens.

Thank you for the link, quite interesting.

Bug#755567: Solved installing firmware-realtek package

This could maybe suggested in the error message.

I am surprised that the ethernet interface is operational after a modprobe
without the firmware.

Bug#493518: Kernel freeze due to sky2 network driver

2008-08-02 Thread pascal . bernard1
Package: linux-image-2.6.25-2-686
Version: 2.6.25-7

Hardware Environment: ASUS P5B / Duo 6600

There are two ethernet controllers on that board:
eth05:04.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Marvell Technology Group
Ltd. 88E8001 Gigabit Ethernet Controller [11ab:4320] (rev 14)
02:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Unknown
device [11ab:4364] (rev 12)

Since I use the other connection (skge driver), I do not have freeze anymore.

The bug is also reported on http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11196
with a picture of the console showing the kernel panic message.

Bug#634697: update kernel 2.6.39-2-amd64

2011-07-19 Thread pascal . bernard1
Package: firmware-realtek
Version: 0.32

Since the update of the kernel from 2.6.38-2 to 2.6.39-2, I cannot get my card
to work.

I have re-installed the package with the new kernel running.

With 2.6.38 kernel, the r8192se_pci.ko module activates the card. It is not
present with 2.6.39:
