Bug#982343: gjiten: Consider using a new upstream git repo
Subject: gjiten: Consider using a new upstream git repo Package: gjiten Version: 2.6-3.1 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, currently there is no upstream git repo for the package gjiten available. I'd like to propose to use this one: https://github.com/DarkTrick/gjitenDebian I created it with `gbp import-dscs --debsnap gjiten` today. I plan to do further dev on gjiten in this repo. -- DarkTrick *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers groovy-updates APT policy: (500, 'groovy-updates'), (500, 'groovy-security'), (500, 'groovy-> Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.8.0-42-generic (SMP w/8 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages gjiten depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.38.0-1 ii edict2020.07.01-1 ii kanjidic 2020.06.29-1 ii libc62.32-0ubuntu3.1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.40.0+dfsg-5ubuntu0.1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.66.1-2 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.32-4ubuntu4 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.46.2-1 Versions of packages gjiten recommends: ii fonts-hanazono [fonts-japanese-mincho] 20170904-2 ii fonts-ipaexfont-mincho [fonts-japanese-mincho] 00301-4ubuntu1 ii fonts-ipafont-mincho [fonts-japanese-mincho]00303-18ubuntu1 ii fonts-takao-mincho [fonts-japanese-mincho] 00303.01-3ubuntu1 ii gconf2 3.2.6-6ubuntu1 Versions of packages gjiten suggests: pn enamdict -- no debconf information

Bug#982343: GJiten: New code, old deps?
It looks like my sources made it into the repos. Thank you for the work! Though, I thought I removed all dependencies to GTK2 and other deprecated dependencies: https://packages.debian.org/sid/gjiten If someone can tell me how how fix it I will try it. Regards Chris
Bug#998485: gjiten: FTBFS: configure.in:8: error: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE expanded multiple times
Hi, maybe it's a good chance to change to the new updated version of gjiten at https://github.com/DarkTrick/gjiten The new version might also encounter packaging problems, but it uses more recent technology and updates; It's probably more worthful to spend time there than in the 10 year old package* Regards Chris - DarkTrick * Yes, I'm trying to promote my updates here :) On 2021/11/05 2:38, Lucas Nussbaum wrote: Source: gjiten Version: 2.6-3.1 Severity: serious Justification: FTBFS Tags: bookworm sid ftbfs User: lu...@debian.org Usertags: ftbfs-20211104 ftbfs-bookworm Hi, During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on amd64. Bug#967404: gjiten: depends on deprecated GTK 2
Hello Jeremy, Could you explain your message a little more? Does that mean the bug is fixed with version 3.1-1? I also couldn't find your comment on the bug report page: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=967404;msg=2 I'm really concerned about Gjiten, so I try to stay up to date about the current status.
